Suffolk farm takes control of energy

WINAICO, a division of Taiwan´s biggest module manufacturer Win Win Precision Technology Co., Ltd., was selected to be module supplier for a 48 kWp solar array in Kenton, Suffolk. The PV system consists of 192 WINAICO WSP 250W modules combined with 2 Power‐One inverters. The estimated annual output of this system is 33.000 kWh generating potential annual savings of £6,184.00.

The solar modules were installed by local company, East Green Energy Limited of Woodbridge, on a South facing barn roof of this Suffolk farm. The farm largely grows grain crops such as wheat, barley and rape and the electricity produced will be used for the grain dryer, workshop and farmhouse.

“The advantages for this farmer are three‐fold“, says Linda Grave, Sales Director of East Green Energy Limited. “Price reduction of their electricity bills, income generation via the feed‐in tariff, but also future‐proofing – giving them price security for a large part of the electricity they consume over the next 20 years. As many farming costs fluctuate over the years, having one that is a known entity helps when planning ahead. And with quality modules from WINAICO with 2 year comprehensive insurance it is a win win situation“, Linda Grave continues.
