As part of former San Antonio Mayor and current Secretary of Housing & Urban Development Julian Castro’s “Vision for 2020”, KACO new energy, in conjunction with partners include OCI Solar Power, Mortenson Construction, and CPS energy, is currently in the process of bringing 400 MW of clean, solar electricity to the citizens of San Antonio, Texas.

KACO and its associates will eventually be powering 70,000 San Antonio residences while simultaneously delivering more than 800, localized, clean energy job opportunities to the people of the city. This serves as an example of what can be done when forward thinking companies like KACO new energy and OCI solar power partner with local elected officials to bring clean energy, clean jobs, and clean economics to the forefront of local societies.

Two of the seven phases are already fully operational, two are about to begin construction and one is currently being commissioned. During the initial portions of the project, KACO new energy delivered its standard, 1MW Integrated Power Station (IPS). However, as the project progresses into the final phases of development, KACO’s product offering will shift and the company will begin offering an IPS solar station that is double in size. The benefits of this increased workload capacity are numerous and the company believes it is the most efficient way to complete this project.
