Jifan Gao Becomes a Founding Member of Private Sector Advisory Board for UNDP in China

Jifan Gao, Chairman and CEO of Trina Solar, has become a founding member of the Newly launched Private Sector Advisory Board (the "Advisory Board") for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Beijing, China.

"I am extremely honored to be a founding member of the Advisory Board," said Gao. "The launch of the Advisory Board will further support the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as we believe the private sector plays an indispensable role in sustainable development.”

The major aim of the Advisory Board is to bring together some of China’s most influential big names to collaborate, discuss and mobilize resources to assist and promote the SDGs.

The PV cost reduction driven by technological improvement brings solar as one of the most powerful method to tacking climate change as well as lead to the global energy resolution. Trina Solar, a Chinese company that is widely regarded as a leader in the solar industry, commits contributing to enhance the proportion of solar energy in the world through both in-house R&D and collaborations with the whole industry.
