Homeowners in Western Pennsylvania can Go Solar with SolarCity’s Service

published: 2016-04-12 15:49

SolarCity expands its solar service to Western Pennsylvania.

With SolarCity’s service, residents in Western Pennsylvania will have access to solar power with no upfront cost. By paying down to US$30 per month, customers can enjoy SolarCity’s design, installation, financing, insurance, monitoring and performance guarantee for solar PV systems. Furthermore, the customers will pay less for solar electricity than for utility power.

Interested homeowners can start ordering for installing and other services. SolarCity expects to install the first PV rooftop system this summer, while the service will initially be available to customers of Duquesne Light utility territory.

SolarCity plans to open an operations center in the Pittsburgh-area soon and has already begun hiring for local positions in installation, sales and related positions. When fully staffed, SolarCity expects the new operations center will employ more than 75 people.
