GCL System Integration Technology (GCL-SI) has appointed Jeffrey Barnett as President of GCL-SI Americas. With over 15 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, he will lead GCL-SI’s solar module and balance of system business in the Americas.

Barnett served as Managing Director in Yingli Green Energy Americas for several years and was responsible for Yingli’s sales and operations in the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean.

"I'm very pleased that Jeff has joined our leadership team," said Mr. Shu Hua, president of GCL-SI. "GCL-SI is rapidly expanding its presence overseas in the Americas, Japan, India, Australia, and Africa. To establish GCL-SI as a leader in these markets, we are building strong local teams, growing business networks, and pursuing strategic acquisitions. With these goals in mind, Jeff's deep industry experience will be a valuable asset as we accelerate business development across the Americas region."

Barnett will be responsible for business development across the Americas region, where the new president recognizes as a strong market for solar and other renewable energy.

“These markets present significant, rapid growth opportunities to GCL-SI,” commented Barnett.

The former Yingli Green Energy Americas managing director, Robert Petrina joined JA Solar as U.S. managing director and president, reported PV Tech. Yingli has been reducing shipments to the U.S. because of financial problems and the restrictions caused by U.S.’s anti-dumping and countervailing measures toward China’s PV imports.
