Recently, energy storage and battery projects from companies such as CALB, Guiqiu Environmental Energy, and Felicity Solar have successively broken ground or entered the equipment installation phase. Meanwhile, related projects from Qianna Technology and Xinren New Energy have also completed their filing processes or disclosed their environmental impact assessment (EIA) progress.
Guiqiu Environmental Energy
New Energy Circular Economy and Energy Storage Equipment Industrial Project Breaks Ground
On May 28, the New Energy Circular Economy and Energy Storage Equipment Industrial Project of Guiqiu Environmental Energy Technology (Hunan) Co., Ltd. officially broke ground.
It is reported that the project has a total investment of 1.5 billion RMB and is a strong joint venture between Shandong Hi-Speed (SDHS) New Energy Group Limited and Hunan Qiushui Changtian Environmental Energy Technology Co., Ltd. The project is planned to be constructed in two phases: the first phase is a circular economy industrial park, and the second phase is an energy storage equipment industrial park, which plans to build an energy storage equipment production line with an annual capacity of 1 GWh.
Felicity Solar
Photovoltaic Energy Storage R&D and Manufacturing Base Project Enters Main Construction Phase
On May 27, the Photovoltaic Energy Storage R&D and Manufacturing Base project of Guangzhou Felicity Solar Technology Co., Ltd. entered the main structural construction phase.
With a total construction area of approximately 190,000 square meters, the project will feature large-scale, high-standard factory buildings and a service support center. It will focus on the research, development, and manufacturing of energy storage battery packs, inverters, controllers, and related products, aiming to create a modern photovoltaic energy storage industrial base that integrates R&D, manufacturing, and supporting services.
CALB (China Aviation Lithium Battery)
51 GWh Power and Energy Storage Battery Project Welcomes New Progress
On May 24, according to news from the Handan Economic and Technological Development Zone, CALB's 51 GWh power battery and energy storage battery system base in Handan reached a significant milestone. The official arrival and installation of the first batch of high-precision coating machines marked the project's comprehensive transition from civil construction to the equipment installation phase.
It is reported that the project boasts a total investment of up to 10 billion RMB and a total construction area of approximately 390,000 square meters. The overall layout covers nine individual buildings, including a production area, a warehouse area, and a supporting area. Once completed, it will become a leading green and intelligent battery production base in the region.
CALB Technology (Handan) Co., Ltd., a joint venture established by CALB and a local state-owned enterprise in Handan, is responsible for the construction and operation. The joint venture has a registered capital of 4 billion RMB, with CALB holding a 60% stake and the Handan party holding a 40% stake.
According to the construction schedule, production equipment for the project is expected to arrive successively starting in late May. Following installation and commissioning, the facility will officially go into production in September. Once fully completed, the project will achieve an annual production capacity of 51 GWh for power and energy storage batteries.
Qianna Technology
Filing Completed for 2 GWh Sodium Battery Production Line in Yunnan
Recently, the enterprise investment project filing for the 2 GWh sodium-ion battery production line construction project of Yunnan Qianna Technology Co., Ltd. was successfully processed and approved by the Development and Reform Bureau of Xiangyun County, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province.
In terms of equity structure, Yunnan Qianna Technology Co., Ltd. is a 100% wholly-owned subsidiary of Guizhou Naduo Enterprise Management Partnership (Limited Partnership), serving as its core subsidiary with complete control.
Previously, Qianna Technology's sodium battery production and PACK integration supporting project in Zhenyuan County, Qiandongnan Prefecture, had already broken ground. That project entails a total investment of 2.243 billion RMB and plans to construct a sodium-ion cylindrical battery cell production line with an annual capacity of 1 GWh, along with a new energy-related product production line. In addition, it will build a 1.5 GWh cathode material and battery cell PACK production line to further optimize its industry chain layout.
Xinren New Energy
EIA Public Notice for Liuzhi Lithium Iron Phosphate Project
On May 14, the draft for comments of the environmental impact report for the Liuzhi Lithium Iron Phosphate Project (Alteration) of Guizhou Xinren New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. was published for public notice.
It is reported that the project plans to construct one lithium iron phosphate (LFP) pilot line, one lithium manganese iron phosphate (LMFP) production line compatible with two LFP production lines, six sodium iron phosphate production lines compatible with LFP production, nine LFP precursor production lines, one iron phosphate small-scale pilot line, and one production line compatible with trilithium phosphate, lithium carbonate, and lithium dihydrogen phosphate. Relevant public utilities and environmental protection engineering facilities will also be built as supporting infrastructure.
Once fully completed, the production capacity scale will be altered from the originally planned annual output of 300,000 tons of LFP and 300,000 tons of iron phosphate precursors to an annual output of 520,020 tons of LFP precursors, 21,840 tons of LMFP, 65,520 tons of sodium iron phosphate, 2,400 tons of trilithium phosphate, 1,000 tons of lithium carbonate, 6,480 tons of lithium dihydrogen phosphate, 89,360 tons of LFP, and 100 tons of iron phosphate.
