Over 17.5 Billion Yuan: 10 Energy Storage Projects of EVE Energy, Sungrow and Others See New Developments

According to EnergyTrend, a batch of energy storage project capacity construction has been accelerated recently. A number of new projects covering lithium batteries, sodium-ion batteries, solid-state batteries, energy storage systems and upstream materials have been intensively launched and put into production, with a total investment exceeding 17.5 billion yuan.

Accelerated Construction of Sichuan Borui'an Energy Storage System Project

According to Jinguan News of Chengdu Daily, on July 12, new progress was made in the construction of the new Sichuan Borui'an Energy Storage System Manufacturing Project located in Xinjin Economic and Technological Development Zone.

The project is jointly built by Sichuan Zhongxin General Electric Power Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Anzhifu Energy Technology Co., Ltd. It will mainly produce energy storage systems for industrial and commercial energy storage, focusing on electronic energy storage warehouses, energy storage cabinet integration and PACK line production. Officially started construction in December last year, the project is scheduled to complete factory completion in August this year.

New Construction Progress of Hefei Advanced Optical and Energy Storage Industrial Base Project

According to Hefei High-tech Urban Development Group, the Advanced Optical and Energy Storage Industrial Base Project has fully advanced from the foundation construction stage to the steel structure main construction stage recently.

Jointly invested and constructed by Sungrow, Sunwoda and Hefei Hongchuxin — a joint venture of the state-owned asset platform of Hefei High-tech Zone, the project has a total investment of nearly 10 billion yuan, with a planned annual output of 30GWh energy storage lithium-ion cells.

Officially commenced in May, the project is planned to be constructed in two phases, building a headquarters R&D center, an energy storage cell manufacturing base and supporting facilities. The first phase is expected to complete equipment commissioning and be put into production by the end of November 2026.

3-Billion-Yuan Energy Storage Project Officially Launched

On July 7, the EVE Energy Storage Headquarters Project with a total investment of 3 billion yuan entered the pre-approval publicity stage. Located in the Guanggu 3rd Road area, the project covers a total land area of 57.96 mu and will be constructed in two phases.

It plans to build an integrated energy storage industrial complex integrating headquarters operation, professional energy storage research institute and a 2GWh intelligent energy storage system factory.

AZURE Plans to Build 5GWh Lithium Battery Project in Indonesia

On the evening of July 9, AZURE announced that the company's board of directors has approved the proposal on investing in a lithium battery project in Indonesia.

With a total planned investment of 290 million US dollars (approximately 1.97 billion yuan), the project involves the construction of a new 5GWh cylindrical lithium battery manufacturing project. It will be implemented through a wholly-owned subsidiary established in Hong Kong and a new wholly-owned subsidiary set up in Indonesia. Upon full completion and operation, the project is expected to form an annual production capacity of 5GWh for various models of 21700 lithium batteries.

10GWh Annual Capacity Large Cylindrical Sodium-ion Battery Project Publicized

On July 7, the environmental impact assessment acceptance publicity of the 10GWh Sodium-ion Battery Project of Fluorine Core Battery Industrial Park invested by Guangxi Ningfu New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. was released. With a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan, the project is located in Lingli Industrial Park, Qingxiu District, Nanning City.

The main construction contents include cell workshops, capacity grading workshops, batching warehouses and raw material warehouses, with one production line for 60120-25Ah cells and their modules. After completion, the project will achieve an annual output of 10GWh sodium-ion batteries, 10,000 tons of NMP solution and 2,750 tons of carbon nanotube conductive slurry. The NMP solution and carbon nanotube conductive slurry will be exclusively used for self-production of sodium-ion batteries without external sales.

The project produces 60120 large cylindrical sodium-ion batteries with a 25Ah capacity and a single-cell voltage of 3V, with an annual output of about 132.6 million batteries. The products are mainly applied in new energy vehicles, energy storage (including residential, portable, industrial and commercial energy storage), electric two-wheelers and electric tricycles.

2GWh Lithium Battery Smart Factory Project Settled

On July 8, Zaozhuang Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning released the post-approval publicity for the Phase I renovation project of the 2GWh lithium battery module smart factory.

Invested and constructed by Shandong Haidi New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., the project has a total investment of 150 million yuan, covering an area of 37 mu with a construction area of 30,000 square meters. Its main products are energy storage batteries and large-scale power batteries. The project plans to purchase a total of 110 sets of equipment including American intelligent full-speed experimental platforms, separators, detection cabinets, battery module production lines, laser welding machines, packaging production lines and battery safety performance detection cabinets.

Battery-grade Iron Phosphate Expansion Project to Be Put into Production Soon

According to Yidu Official Account, Hubei Xingyou New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. — a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hubei Xingfa Chemicals Group Co., Ltd. — has completed the installation of main equipment for its 120,000-ton/year battery-grade iron phosphate expansion project, entering the final construction stage.

Hubei Xingyou plans to conduct single-unit test run, joint test run and material feeding in mid-July this year. With a total investment of 900 million yuan, the project constructs 4 intelligent iron phosphate production lines, supporting photovoltaic power generation systems and full-factory 5G digital central control systems. The single-line capacity of the first phase is 25,000 tons per year, and the upgraded single-line capacity of the second phase can reach 30,000 to 35,000 tons per year, with the overall capacity increased by about 30%.

Enpower’s Advanced Solid-state Battery Intelligent Manufacturing Base in Anhui Reaches Full Production

On July 9, according to Enpower, its first 2GWh advanced solid-state battery intelligent manufacturing base in Anhui has completed capacity ramp-up and reached the designed production capacity.

Officially put into operation in April, the base has successively launched a number of new cell products from April to June, and the newly specified cells have quickly achieved full production after mass production.

Easpring Finland Secures Financing Support from International Syndicate

On July 8, Easpring Finland signed a green project financing agreement totaling 514.4 million euros with an international syndicate in Finland to support the construction of its cathode material production project in Kotka, southern Finland.

The first phase of the project has a planned annual cathode material production capacity of 60,000 tons, adopting advanced manufacturing technologies and complying with high-standard environmental protection requirements. Its products are expected to be supplied to global mainstream battery manufacturers including LGES, AESC and SK On.

4GWh Sodium-ion Energy Storage System Factory to Be Built in California, US

On July 8, foreign media reported that Peak Energy announced plans to build the first sodium-ion energy storage system factory in California, United States.

With an annual production capacity of 4GWh, the factory is scheduled to be put into operation in the first quarter of 2027, and has secured intentional customer orders exceeding 6GWh so far. Its products are mainly applied in data center energy storage scenarios.
