Shenzhen will Invest RMB 5 Billion Yuan in New Energy Vehicles in the 12th Five-Year Plans

The Shenzhen Government has released the development target of the new energy vehicles in the next 5 years——the fund of RMB 5 billion Yuan will be invested in the 12th Five-Year Plans to establish the new energy vehicle industry base whose output is expected to more than RMB 8 billion Yuan.

The Shenzhen deputy mayor Tangjie said:” Over 6 years, the new energy vehicle field in Shenzhen has already begun to take shape, and emerged insome whole-vehicle manufacturers, such as BYD, Wuzhoulong Automobile, GreenWheel, whose R&D strength and engineering level has taken the leading position in China.”

As one of the 13 Energy-Saving and New-Energy Vehicle Pilots, the number of the private new energy vehicles will reach 25,000 by 2012, accounting for 1% of the motor vehicles in Shenzhen.

Regarding the public transportation, 339 hybrid electricl buses, 300 LNG buses and 50 all electric taxies has started running for model test so far. By the end of this year, another 850 hybrid electricl buses and 100 all electric taxies will gradually enter service in public.

 “In the12th Five-Year Plans, the development target of the new energy field in Shenzhen is to build the national new energy vehicle industry base. The total investment is expected to reach RMB 5-6 billion Yuan, and the planning land will cover 10-15 square kilometers. After the project completion, the production capacity of electric vehicles is 200-300 thousand units, with the total output value of more than RMB 8 billion Yuan,” Tangjie added.
