published: 2012-09-17 15:07

The company leads the renewable energy equipment sector based on its financial, social and environmental performance

For a sixth consecutive year, Gamesa is listed on Dow Jones' global sustainability index (Dow Jones Sustainability Index World, or DJSI World), which tracks the world's leading corporations in sustainability best practices based on economic, environmental and social criteria. Additionally, this year Gamesa ranks No. 1 in the Renewable Energy Equipment sector.

Gamesa obtained the highest scores in its industry across all assessed parameters (economic, environmental and social), with particularly impressive performance in the areas of health and safety, code of conduct, the fight against corruption and customer relations.

The newly-updated DJSI World --- one of the most prestigious international sustainability indexes - consists of 340 companies in 30 countries.

The index, created in 1999, tracks the world's most outstanding companies in the sustainability field, and DJSI-based investment vehicles are valued at more than $6 billion in 15 countries. The Dow Jones Sustainability Index World, through independent organisation SAM-Sustainability Asset Management, this year opened the process to more than 1,500 companies listed on the Dow Jones Total Global Stock Market Index. It chose just slightly more than 10% of the companies with the most sustainable policies and activities in the financial, social and environment spheres.

Gamesa is listed on other sustainability indexes, including the FTSE4Good, Ethibel Sustainability Index and Global Challenges Index, among other indexes.
