JA Solar announced to supply 35.1MW of PV modules to the second phase of a Guatemala solar farm. This is the first large-scale solar farm in Central America and its first phase construction also features of JA Solar’s products.

The signing of the contract for phase II of the project for another 35.1MW of modules came after JA's successful delivery of 59.7MW to the first phase in 2014. As the largest solar farm in Central America and the second largest in the Latin American region, the Guatemala project requires modules of high reliability, high conversion efficiency and high power output.

Mr. Jian Xie, president of JA Solar, commented, "Enough panels to cover an area the size of 300 football fields not only provides clean power to the people of Central America, but also opens a window for us in the local market. It is a new milestone in our efforts to expand globally into new markets and reflects our ever-growing global influence."
