JinkoSolar to Develop 800MW of Solar in Dubai

published: 2016-01-22 18:06

Global PV manufacturer JinkoSolar has signed a solar developing consortium with RWE AG’s subsidiary, RWE Innogy (RWE). The consortium is to take part in the 800MW Solar Photovoltaic Independent Power Project - Phase III tendered by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

JinkoSolar is China’s first PV manufacturer that received the China Quality Certification Center’s (CQC’s) “Top Runner” Program level-one energy efficiency certification. JinkoSolar won the certification by its 285W high efficiency multicrystalline 60-cell modules.

The momentum of improving quality and power output of its products helped JinkoSolar form the partnership with RWE. Both parties have successfully pre-qualified earlier this month and are now preparing their joint tender response, which is expected to be submitted at the end of March 2016.

JinkoSolar and RWE are committed to the Middle East and firmly believe that Phase III of the project is an important milestone for the Emirate of Dubai and the entire region as a hub for renewable energies, as it will represent one of the largest photovoltaic power projects globally. Both parties have significant expertise in developing, implementing, operating and financing large-scale renewables projects.
