CECEP Gaoyou 20GW high-efficiency solar cells manufacturing base (phase I) project officially signed, investment and construction started

On December 17, 2020, the signing ceremony of the investment agreement of the 20GW high-efficiency battery manufacturing Base (Phase I) project of CECEP Gaoyou was held in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province, marking the formal investment and construction of the 20GW high-efficiency solar cells  manufacturing base (Phase I) project.

As the construction and operation subject of the project, CECEP Gaoyou Co., Ltd. has been formally registered and established. The project covers an area of 800 mu, with a planned investment scale of 11 billion yuan. Three standardized workshops are planned to be built to realize the construction of 20GW high-efficiency  solar cells project.

On September 28, 2020, CECEP issued an announcement that zhenjiang company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of solar energy technology co., ltd. was planning an intelligent manufacturing project with an annual output of 20GW of high-efficiency solar cells and 4.5GW of high-efficiency modules. For the investment address selection of the first phase of the project (6.5GW high-efficiency solar cells and 1.5GW high-efficiency modules intelligent manufacturing project), Zhenjiang Company, the administrative Committee of Gaoyou Economic Development Zone and the administrative Committee of Zhenjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone have reached an agreement on this project respectively and signed a voluntary cooperation agreement.

According to the agreement, Zhenjiang Solar Energy Science and Technology Co., Ltd. will register a project company in Gaoyou city and plan to invest 20GW of high-efficiency solar cells intelligent manufacturing project. In the first phase, annual PERC cell (single crystal cell) will reach 6.5GW. At the same time, in Zhenjiang Economic Development Area (where zhenjiang company is currently located), we plan to invest in an intelligent manufacturing project with an annual output of 4.5GW of high-efficiency solar modules, of which the first phase is planned to have an annual output of 1.5GW of high-efficiency solar modules. Both governments will provide preferential policies to support the project in terms of land use, infrastructure, electricity, research and development, etc.
