JinkoSolar Will Invest RMB 10.8 Billion to Build Production Facilities for PV Modules and Module Frames in Jiangxi

The government of China’s Jiangxi Province has announced that JinkoSolar’s local subsidiary Jiangxi Jinko has entered into an agreement with the government of Shangrao to set up facilities for the production of high-efficiency PV modules and aluminum module frames. Shangrao is a prefecture-level city in the northeastern part of Jiangxi, and the new production facilities will be located in the Guangxin district of the city. The total investment in these facilities is estimated around RMB 10.8 billion. The Jiangxi government said that the deal represents JinkoSolar’s second investment project in Shangrao that surpasses the threshold of RMB 10 billion. All in all, the new production facilities will have an annual production capacity of 24GW for PV modules and 100,000 tons for module frames. The signing ceremony was held on March 29.

The production facilities will be built in three phases. The first two phases will respectively add 8GW of annual production capacity for high-efficiency PV modules. The last phase will again add 8GW of annual module production capacity as well as 100,000 tons of annual production capacity for aluminum module frames. The entire project site will span a continuous area sized 1,700 mu. The first phase is scheduled to enter operation before December 15, 2022 and reach full capacity utilization before June 15, 2023. The construction of the second phase is set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2023. Lastly, the construction of the third phase is set to begin the third quarter of 2025.
