Recently, Jinko ESS, a world-leading energy storage enterprise, announced that it has reached a strategic cooperation with TIJIRIT, a well-known mineral water brand in Mauritania, and will deploy an industrial and commercial photovoltaic + energy storage system for its factory. The project adopts 10 sets of SunGiga 215kWh intelligent energy storage systems with a total capacity of 2.15MWh, paired with 1.3MW Tiger Neo high-efficiency photovoltaic modules. It will fully replace the factory's original diesel power generation mode, and is expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 1,800 metric tons per year while significantly lowering power generation costs.
Jinko ESS's SunGiga system, specially designed for high-temperature desert environments, demonstrates excellent adaptability. It can maintain a cell temperature difference of ±2℃ even in extreme temperatures of 55℃. With an IP54 protection rating, it effectively resists sand and dust erosion. Through the independently developed smart energy management platform, the system realizes the coordination of photovoltaic, energy storage and load. The high bifacial rate of the Tiger Neo series modules is perfectly adapted to the desert environment, ensuring efficient and stable operation under the condition of over 3,000 hours of annual sunshine in Mauritania and achieving more back-side power generation gains.
The delivery of core equipment for the project is progressing as planned. The energy storage system will be delivered to the site on August 20, 2025, and the photovoltaic modules are expected to be delivered by August 22. The entire system is scheduled to be officially connected to the grid in October. Asif SW, Head of Middle East, Africa and Central Asia at Jinko ESS, stated: "The 85% bifacial rate of Tiger Neo modules, combined with the intelligent regulation capability of the SunGiga system, enables the TIJIRIT factory to obtain 24-hour stable and clean electricity in off-grid areas. This successful model will be promoted to 11 off-grid industrial parks in North Africa, setting a benchmark for industrial and commercial energy transition in Africa. Jinko ESS will also continue to empower the Middle East and Africa region."
