Sunwoda Unveils 684Ah and 588Ah Energy Storage Cells at RE+ 2025

published: 2025-09-11 17:08

On September 9 local time, Sunwoda globally debuted its 684Ah and 588Ah energy storage cells at RE+ 2025. By leveraging innovative technology, the company has launched a high-capacity product portfolio, delivering more efficient and reliable energy storage solutions across power generation, grid, and user-side applications.

Chen Tao, General Manager of Sunwoda’s Energy Storage Cell Division, stated:
"The launch of the 684Ah and 588Ah energy storage cells demonstrates Sunwoda’s commitment to continuous innovation and the development of large-capacity energy storage technologies. Our mission has always been to provide high-safety, high-quality, and high-reliability products and solutions that meet diverse application needs."

684Ah Energy Storage Cell

Leading High Energy Density and System Integration Through Stacked Electrode Technology

The 684Ah cell adopts advanced stacked electrode technology, achieving a volumetric energy density of over 440 Wh/L, standing out among similar products. Its innovative “thermal-electric separation” design combined with a 3D heat dissipation structure fundamentally optimizes thermal management, significantly enhancing operational safety and long-term reliability.

In terms of performance, the 684Ah cell offers a service life exceeding 20 years, meeting long-term operational requirements. Notably, it is highly adaptable for system integration, compatible with 10-ft, 20-ft, and 30-ft container solutions. Its high energy density and integration reduce container deployment by 27% and simplify system assembly, substantially lowering upfront investment costs. Thanks to high energy density and simplified installation and maintenance, the cell achieves an 8% reduction in levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) over its lifecycle, effectively improving deployment speed and operational economics. Mass production is scheduled for Q4 2025 to meet market delivery needs.

588Ah Energy Storage Cell

Proven Technology Ensuring Long Cycle Life and High Efficiency

The 588Ah cell uses a well-established winding process, enhanced with innovative low-lithium-loss technology, effectively mitigating capacity degradation over long-term operation. It achieves up to 10,000 cycles at 70% state-of-health (SOH), delivering a service life exceeding 20 years and outstanding lifecycle economic performance.

This cell also offers high energy efficiency up to 96.5%. Coupled with a high-safety electrolyte and directional venting design, it ensures safe and stable system operation while further optimizing LCOE. It provides an ideal choice for applications with stringent economic requirements.

Innovation and Manufacturing: Dual Drivers of Energy Storage Development

With the introduction of the 684Ah and 588Ah cells, Sunwoda has established a diverse product matrix covering multiple technologies and capacity specifications. While the two cells employ different manufacturing processes—stacked electrode and winding—they share core advantages: long life, high efficiency, and excellent economic performance, enabling diverse energy storage applications with precise and reliable solutions.

At the same time, Sunwoda continues to expand its global manufacturing network, with production bases in China, Thailand, Hungary, and other regions, providing efficient and reliable localized supply chain support for key markets. Moving forward, Sunwoda will continue to strengthen its technology innovation and manufacturing capabilities, offering energy storage products with higher energy density, longer lifespan, and superior system value, driving global energy transition and sustainable development.
