On September 25, CORNEX NEW ENERGY CO., LTD. held its new product launch event in Yichang, where Executive Vice President Bu Xiangnan unveiled the company’s next-generation 588Ah high-capacity energy storage cell. Chairman Dai Deming, President Huang Feng, and hundreds of partners, financial institutions, and media representatives were present to witness this milestone moment.

This launch marks another key step in CORNEX’s “Renewal” strategy—driven by new equipment, new production lines, new processes, and new technologies—demonstrating the company’s dedication to R&D and leadership in energy storage innovation. From 280Ah, 306Ah, and 314Ah to 472Ah, each new product has not only refreshed technical parameters but also delivered precise responses to evolving market and customer needs.

The newly launched 588Ah energy storage cell embodies years of technological accumulation in material systems, structural design, and intelligent manufacturing. With a single-cell capacity pushing the limits of winding technology to 588Ah, the battery delivers a gravimetric energy density of 190Wh/kg, volumetric energy density of 419Wh/L, and energy efficiency of 96.5%—all at industry-leading levels.

Beyond record-setting parameters, the 588Ah cell offers three defining advantages: high reliability, high safety, and long lifespan.

High reliability: The 588Ah cell inherits the proven material system and manufacturing processes of the mass-produced 472Ah cell. Its core reliability has been pre-verified, effectively mitigating new product risks while ensuring predictable, dependable quality and enabling rapid mass production.

High safety: Safety is the cornerstone for large-scale deployment. CORNEX has established a full-stack safety system covering prevention, control, and protection. Innovative structural materials reduce the risk of internal short circuits and lithium plating, while a patented directional pressure-release design enables millisecond-level exhaust of high-temperature gases.

Long lifespan: Lifespan underpins lifecycle returns. Through three core technologies—multi-level cathode particle size control, a reinforced anode skeleton, and a self-healing electrolyte—the battery overcomes degradation challenges, achieving over 12,000 cycles with excellent capacity retention.

Alongside the new cell, CORNEX also introduced the 588-CTP2.0 energy storage PACK solution and the “Transformer” system platform.

The CTP2.0 solution eliminates modules with a simplified design, reducing material types and quantities by 20%. Single PACKs achieve 170Wh/kg gravimetric and 285Wh/L volumetric energy density—among the best globally. With a 1,000°C-resistant isolation layer, the system effectively prevents thermal propagation, extending safety from the cell to the system level. Meanwhile, CORNEX’s pioneering “absorb-and-protect” process boosts production efficiency by 35%, enabling superior large-scale delivery capability.

The “Transformer” system platform, named for its high modularity, flexible configuration, and rapid deployment, supports 3.13MWh per standard 10-foot container and 6.26MWh per 20-foot container. Like building blocks, systems can be scaled and combined to meet specific project requirements in generation, grid, or large-scale C&I applications. This design enhances adaptability to diverse scenarios, shortens delivery cycles, and provides tailored all-in-one solutions.

Applied at the gigawatt scale, the platform can reduce land use by 20%, cut prefabricated cabin numbers by 27%, and lower operating costs by more than 20%.

By 2035, global energy storage installations are expected to reach 2TWh annually.
