CATL Signs Energy Storage Battery Project with Gui’an New Area

Recently, CATL and Gui’an New Area officially signed an investment cooperation agreement for Phase II of the CATL (Guizhou) New Energy Power and Energy Storage Battery Manufacturing Base.

According to the agreement, building upon the already operational Phase I, CATL will invest in the construction of Phase II. The project is designed with a planned annual production capacity of 30GWh for power and energy storage batteries.

It is reported that Phase I of the base was established in November 2021 and commenced production in October 2023. Built to "Lighthouse + Zero-Carbon Factory" standards and equipped with highly automated production lines, Phase I also has an annual capacity of 30GWh.

Capchem to Invest in Lithium Battery Material Project in Saudi Arabia

On the evening of December 31, Capchem announced that it intends to use its wholly-owned subsidiary, Capchem Middle East, as the implementation vehicle to invest in a lithium-ion battery material project in the Yanbu Industrial City, Saudi Arabia. The total planned investment is approximately $260 million.

The project will primarily produce carbonate solvents and ethylene glycol. The construction period is expected to be no more than three years, covering a land area of approximately 300,000 square meters.

Funding will be sourced from Capchem’s own funds or self-raised capital, with the possibility of joint investment with third-party strategic investors. Currently, Capchem holds a 100% stake, but it intends to introduce local Saudi third-party investors for joint venture cooperation in the future.

10GWh Annual Capacity: Semi-Solid-State Battery Project Signed in Inner Mongolia

On December 28, the People's Government of Otog Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, signed an investment cooperation agreement with Shenzhen Fuxin Industrial Technology Co., Ltd. in Shenzhen.

Under the agreement, the two parties will establish a semi-solid-state lithium-ion battery and PACK production line with an annual capacity of 10GWh in Otog Banner. The project will simultaneously include the construction of a 2,000MWh grid-side independent energy storage power station.

20GWh: Gotion High-Tech Lithium Battery Project Enters Public Review

Recently, the Housing, Communications, and Transportation Bureau of Yijiang District, Wuhu City, Anhui Province, released the "Pre-approval Public Notice for the Architectural Design Plan of the Gotion High-Tech 20GWh New Energy Battery Base Project."
