Recently, leading battery manufacturers have been ramping up their strategic investments in key regions. CATL and Sunwoda have respectively established new energy-related companies in Western Sichuan and Beijing, focusing on energy storage, battery manufacturing, and new energy technical services to further refine their regional industrial layouts.

CATL Settles in Western Sichuan with New Kangding Subsidiary

On March 19, Kangding Runshi New Energy Co., Ltd. was officially established. Wholly owned by CATL’s subsidiary, Times Green Energy Co., Ltd., the new entity has a registered capital of 10 million RMB. Its core business focuses on the R&D of emerging energy technologies, energy storage technical services, as well as technical services for wind and solar power generation.

The Kangding area in Western Sichuan is known for its abundant hydropower and lithium resources, making it a critical strategic hub for China’s new energy industry. By establishing this presence, CATL aims to deeply integrate local resource advantages, focusing on R&D, energy storage project construction, and power generation services to bridge the gap between clean energy development and storage applications in Southwest China.

A 300 Million RMB Investment: Sunwoda Establishes New Beijing Entity

On March 18, Beijing Sunwoda New Energy Co., Ltd. was officially incorporated with Ye Zhilin as its legal representative and a registered capital of 300 million RMB. Its scope of operations includes battery manufacturing and sales, R&D of emerging energy technologies, operation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and the manufacturing of power transmission, distribution, and control equipment.

Shareholder records indicate that Beijing Sunwoda is 100% owned by Sunwoda Mobility Technology Co., Ltd., a controlled subsidiary of the parent group, Sunwoda Electronic Co., Ltd.

Notably, Sunwoda had previously established Xintie Jiaoneng (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. in the capital. That entity, wholly owned by Shenzhen Xintie Jiaoneng Technology (a Sunwoda subsidiary) with a registered capital of 10 million RMB, primarily handles energy storage services, battery sales, and battery leasing. The new company is expected to complement these existing operations, further strengthening Sunwoda’s foundation in the energy storage and battery sectors across North China.
