Recently, major Chinese energy enterprises including CATL, Welion New Energy, and Yichu Shuzhi have successively established photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage subsidiaries. Their business scopes encompass new energy technical services, AI Data Center (AIDC) energy storage, and integrated energy management.
CATL Indirectly Establishes Huizhou Runkai New Energy
On July 17, Huizhou Runkai New Energy Co., Ltd. was officially established with Dai Wei as its legal representative and a registered capital of RMB 2.56 million.
According to equity penetration data from Qichacha, Huizhou Runkai is wholly owned by Times Green Energy Co., Ltd., which in turn is a wholly owned subsidiary of the listed company Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL).
The company’s business scope primarily includes technical services for solar power generation, R&D of emerging energy technologies, thermal power production and supply, contract energy management, R&D of online energy metering and monitoring technology, and IoT technical services. This move will further expand CATL’s strategic footprint in new energy technical services and downstream power generation operations.
Welion New Energy Establishes Subsidiary to Target AIDC Energy Storage Market
On July 18, Zhejiang Welion Digital Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Beijing Welion New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., was officially unveiled. Registered in the South Taihu New Area of Huzhou, Zhejiang Province, this launch marks Welion New Energy’s further expansion into digital energy operations and its strategic entry into the AI Data Center (AIDC) energy storage market.
It is reported that Zhejiang Welion Digital Energy was jointly established by Beijing Welion New Energy and Honghe New Energy, focusing specifically on AIDC energy storage solutions. Leveraging solid-state battery technology and in-situ solidification technology, the company will conduct product R&D across battery cells, energy storage systems, thermal management, Energy Management Systems (EMS), and Battery Management Systems (BMS) to deliver energy storage products and systemic solutions for intelligent computing centers and related scenarios.
During the unveiling ceremony, Zhejiang Welion Digital Energy signed long-term strategic cooperation agreements with Beijing Gongsheng Technology and Beijing Mingdao Electric (Kangsheng Data Center), respectively. Under these agreements, the parties will collaborate on energy storage applications in intelligent computing centers, pushing forward projects such as computing energy storage power stations and green power consumption.
Welion New Energy stated that going forward, the company will continuously advance its AIDC energy storage business, strengthen supply chain collaboration, and explore the large-scale commercial application of solid-state batteries in digital energy sectors.
Yichu Shuzhi Sets Up Another New Energy Subsidiary
On July 22, Yichu Shuzhi added a new energy subsidiary to its portfolio—Shenzhen Xingyueyun Energy Technology Co., Ltd. The new entity has a registered capital of RMB 5 million, with Shi Lei serving as its legal representative.
According to equity penetration data from Qichacha, the company is wholly owned by Shenzhen Yichu Shuzhi Energy Group Co., Ltd. Its business scope mainly covers the R&D and manufacturing of new energy and energy storage equipment, wind and solar power generation, power transmission and supply, industrial big data and software development, as well as contract energy management and comprehensive technical services.
