The energy storage market continues to see steady commercial momentum with a stream of new orders and signed project contracts. Companies including CORNEX, Cubenergy, and SVOLT Energy Technology have recently secured deals spanning battery cell supply, energy storage system (ESS) integration, and EPC services.
CORNEX Signs Multiple Agreements and Secures 1.5 GWh Cell Order
From August 25 to 27, at Intersolar South America, CORNEX signed cooperation agreements with four companies—Windey, Intermepro, ION Energy, and JSN Energia—to further expand its footprint across Latin American markets such as Brazil and Argentina.
On August 25, CORNEX signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Argentina-based Intermepro. The two companies will collaborate on local warehousing, logistics, on-site delivery, commissioning, and after-sales service across the Americas, covering the United States, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Central America, and South America.
On the same day, CORNEX signed an MOU with Brazil's ION Energy. Leveraging ION Energy's local system integration and operation and maintenance (O&M) capabilities in Brazil, the two sides will jointly develop energy storage applications in agricultural irrigation and commercial & industrial (C&I) sectors.
On August 26, CORNEX signed a 1.5 GWh battery cell framework agreement with Windey Energy Technology Group. Under the agreement, Windey established its first overseas energy storage manufacturing plant in Camaçari, Bahia, with a designed annual capacity of 1.5 GWh. CORNEX will serve as the core battery cell supplier for Windey’s localized base in Brazil to build a collaborative energy storage industrial ecosystem in Latin America.
On August 27, CORNEX signed an MOU with Brazil's JSN Energia to cooperate on energy storage equipment sales, jointly targeting Brazil's utility-scale and C&I storage markets.
Cubenergy Powers Commissioning of 120 MWh Energy Storage Project in Czech Republic
Recently, the 57 MW / 120 MWh Lipnice battery energy storage project in the Czech Republic entered commercial operation. Cubenergy served as the exclusive energy storage system supplier, providing the complete battery energy storage system along with core technical support.
Located in the Sokolov region of the Czech Republic, the project was jointly developed by SUAS GROUP and EIF Investment Group with a total investment of approximately CZK 400 million. Featuring a capacity of 57 MW / 120 MWh, the project is configured with 144 battery cabinets, 18 PCS units, and 9 integrated transformer kiosks, utilizing Cubenergy’s FlexCombo battery energy storage system.
SVOLT Supplies 80 MWh C&I Storage Project Connected to Grid in Guizhou
On August 25, an 80 MWh C&I energy storage project in Weng'an, Guizhou, achieved grid connection. SVOLT Energy Technology Co., Ltd. supplied 16 units of its 5.16 MWh short-blade liquid-cooled energy storage containerized systems, totaling approximately 80 MWh in capacity.
Located in Weng'an County, Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, the project primarily serves local industrial power demand. It deploys 16 sets of SVOLT's 5.16 MWh short-blade liquid-cooled containerized systems, utilizing short-blade stacked battery cells and liquid cooling thermal management technologies.
TGPRO New Energy Deploys 320 kWh Storage System in Zambia
Recently, a 320 kWh energy storage system from TGPRO New Energy was put into operation and began generating power at a project site in Zambia, expanding the company's footprint in the African energy storage market.
The project employs two 160 kWh battery clusters for a total capacity of 320 kWh, paired with a 125 kW Ginlong (Solis) inverter. The system operates alongside solar PV generation to store excess power during the day and discharge according to load demand, enabling flexible power management.
Shaanxi Zhonghao Electrical Group Signs Independent Storage Project
On August 28, Shaanxi Zhonghao Electrical Group Co., Ltd. signed a contract with Shandong Jiayang New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. for the Jiayang 200 MW / 382.5 MWh Independent Energy Storage Project in Dazhangzhuang Town, Yiyuan County, with a total contract value of approximately 520 million RMB.
The project features a total capacity of 200 MW / 382.5 MWh, combining a 190 MW / 380 MWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery storage system and a 10 MW / 2.5 MWh flywheel energy storage system. It also includes the construction of a 220 kV step-up substation, transmission lines, and auxiliary roads.
Adopting a hybrid solution of electrochemical and flywheel storage, Shaanxi Zhonghao Electrical Group Co., Ltd. will participate as the EPC contractor, overseeing the construction of the energy storage systems and supporting infrastructure.
Shangfang Energy Signs 240 MWh Independent Storage Project
On August 21, Beijing Shangfang Smart Clean Energy Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement with Shanghai Yiyun Smart Energy Co., Ltd. and Hengqin Huatong Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. for the Yiyun 60 MW / 240 MWh Independent Energy Storage Project.
Located in Fengxian District, Shanghai, the project covers approximately 19 mu (~1.27 hectares) with a planned capacity of 60 MW / 240 MWh. It incorporates dual technology pathways: a 35 MW / 140 MWh LFP battery storage system and a 25 MW / 100 MWh semi-solid-state battery storage system, alongside a supporting 110 kV step-up substation.
Under an EPC general contracting model, Shangfang Energy is responsible for survey and design, equipment and material procurement, civil construction, installation, commissioning, grid testing, external power line coordination, and final acceptance.
