On August 31, Jiangsu Ruien New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. officially signed a framework agreement with the Serbian government and the municipal government of Inđija to build a high-performance battery cell manufacturing plant in Inđija, Serbia. The project’s first phase involves a planned investment exceeding €100 million (approximately RMB 780 million).
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has attached great importance to the project. He explicitly stated that the Serbian government will actively support its progress and pledged to provide substantive assistance to the Chinese partner in areas such as infrastructure development and investment policies.
This investment in Serbia marks a further step in advancing Ruien New Energy’s overseas manufacturing strategy. As its international customer base and market reach expand, the company aims to establish a local production facility to optimize its overseas capacity distribution and enhance its supply and delivery capabilities across Europe and other global markets.
Currently, Ruien New Energy has already established battery cell manufacturing capacity within China; the launch of the Serbian project will extend its manufacturing footprint further abroad. Specific details concerning production capacity, construction timelines, and related parameters will be disclosed in due course.
