According to EnergyTrend, overseas projects in the global energystorage market have been accelerating their implementation recently. Six enterprises, namely Fuchu Energy, SAJ Electric, Sany Lithium Energy, China Energy Engineering Corporation, CATL and Samsung SDI, have successively disclosed updates on their overseas orders, covering the commissioning of energystorage projects, signed contracts and strategic cooperation agreements.
Fuchu Energy’s EnergyStorage Project Put into Operation in Thailand
On September 2, Fuchu Energy announced that its AIO 261 liquidcooled energystorage cabinet had recently completed installation and commissioning and entered trial operation at a factory in Thailand.
Amid sustained high temperatures in Thailand, the AIO 261 liquidcooled energystorage cabinet has demonstrated high safety, high energy efficiency, high reliability and long service life. Its liquidcooled temperature control maintains precise thermal regulation, the temperature difference within battery clusters stays within a reasonable range, and cell voltage differential is wellcontrolled. No fault alarms were triggered from the fireprotection and liquidcooling subsystems throughout operation, and the whole system runs stably.
SAJ Electric’s PVEnergyStorage Project Commissioned in Romania
On September 1, SAJ Electric announced the commissioning of its 5.22 MWh VPP project in Romania.
In partnership with local collaborators, SAJ Electric built a benchmark 2.5 MW PVplusstorage project in Romania with 20 units of CM2 allinone energystorage systems, amounting to a total capacity of 5.22 MWh. This is Romania’s first largescale industrial PVstorage project adopting the CM2 solution, and also the largest SAJ Electric commercialindustrial energystorage project of its kind under construction across Europe.
Sany Lithium Energy to Supply 175 MWh Project in Europe
On August 31, Sany Group stated that its subsidiary Sany Lithium Energy would deliver an advanced ACDC integrated equipment solution for a 175 MWh energystorage system for a Romanian client in Europe. The scope includes full sets of core equipment such as DC energystorage containers and integrated inverterstepup containers.
Earlier, Sany’s microgrid Dobresti PVstorage integrated project in Romania officially broke ground, marking the Group’s first largescale gridconnected PVstorage demonstration project in Europe. The delivery of this 175 MWh Romanian energystorage project signifies a leap for Sany’s energystorage equipment in the European market: moving from demonstration projects to multihundredmegawattscale mass supply.
China Energy Engineering Signs EPC Contract for Africa’s Largest Single PVStorage Project
According to China Energy Engineering International Group, on August 27, China Energy Engineering International Group, Southwest Electric Power Design Institute and China Energy Engineering Construction Group, acting as a joint venture, signed the EPC contract for Phase I of the Midelt PVstorage project in Morocco.
Located in the Midelt region of Morocco, the project mainly consists of a roughly 630 MW photovoltaic power station and a 1300 MWh electrochemical energystorage system. Its scope covers survey and design, equipment supply, construction and installation, commissioning and related services. Upon completion, it will become Africa’s largest singleunit PVstorage project.
CATL Enters Strategic Cooperation for Brazilian EnergyStorage Business
On August 29, CATL announced that on August 25, the opening day of the 2026 South America Smart Energy Exhibition, it forged a strategic partnership with Moura, South America’s largest battery manufacturer. The two parties will jointly take part in the LRCAP 2026 energystorage capacity reserve auction led by Brazil’s Ministry of Mines and Energy, and jointly explore Brazil’s energystorage market in South America.
Under the cooperation agreement, CATL will provide energystorage solutions, while Moura will contribute local manufacturing expertise and distribution networks. CATL noted that it currently holds a 45 % share in Brazil’s energystorage market. Its landmark Registro project is Brazil’s first utilityscale battery energystorage system within the power transmission sector.
Samsung SDI to Supply Battery Cells to an EnergyStorage System Integrator
According to recent foreign media reports, Samsung SDI will supply lithiumironphosphate cells to a globally renowned energystorage system integrator, with the transaction value estimated at several trillion South Korean won. The two sides plan to finalize a threeyear master contract in the fourth quarter, with an annual supply volume of several GWh.
Reports add that the customer is the world’s largest energystorage enterprise. It does not produce cells inhouse and assembles energystorage products using externallysourced cells. Samsung SDI will supply cells rather than complete systems. The two companies previously set up a joint venture in China in 2014 to develop energystorage businesses. The customer’s energystorage products have mainly adopted prismatic LFP cells sourced from battery manufacturers including CATL, CALB and EVE Energy.
