The 3rd PV Asia Pacific Conference

The PV Asia Pacific Conference (PVAP Conference) will convene on 29-30 October in Marine Bay Sands, Singapore. It has already attracted enormous attention from global political circle and will gather top scientists and elites from global academic field and PV industry.

The PVAP Conference is an international PV conference held annually in Singapore as part of the Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW). It is hosted by Asian Photovoltaic Industry Association (APVIA) and jointly supported by Energy Market Authority (EMA), Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) and Singapore Tourism Board (STB). GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Limited is the premier sponsor for this conference and other partners include Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS), Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS) and VDE.

In order to boost the South Asian market, and take the initiative to exploit the market, Asian Photovoltaic Industry Association (APVIA), with previous two years’ success in holding PVAP Expo, is going to host the 3rd PVAP Conference. The Conference has invited speakers and guests who are globally recognised experts. It will be co-chaired by Prof Armin ABERLE, CEO of the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS), Dr Zhengrong SHI, Chief Chairman of the Asian Photovoltaic Industry Association (APVIA) and Mr. Gongshan ZHU, Executive Director, President and CEO of GCL-POLY. Prof. Martin GREEN, Director of Australian Centre for Advanced Photovoltaics (ACAP) of UNSW, and Prof. Joachim LUTHER, Visiting Professor of SERIS in Singapore will act as Honorary Chairmen of the Conference.

This year’s PVAP Conferenceconsists of several notable events. The Solar Leaders Dialogue focuses on global PV industry development and market trends, explores opportunities for developing solar plants in Asia Pacific, and addressing bankability from the perspective of technological advances. Financial Summit concentrates on global hot issues, including bankability of solar projects, and novel business and financial models in Asian markets. The PV Technology Conference features off-grid PV plant solutions for SE Asia and the formulation of uniform PV standard in Asia Pacific.

On this year’s conference, the Asia Pacific Solar Institute that has been under long-term preparation will officially come into operation and Professor Martin GREEN will act as the Honorary President of the Institute. Besides, to boost confidence in the PV industry, promote technology advance, accumulate regional advantages, evaluate industrial efficiency, share classic cases, honor best practices and stimulate the development of the industry, the Asian Photovoltaic Industry Association (APVIA) has launched an initiative of the annual Asia Photovoltaic awards and will hold an award ceremony, which will honour organizations and individuals in the PV industry in the following 5 aspects: industrial contribution, technological achievement, academic contribution, banking and financing initiative and photovoltaic application.
