Intertek, a (LSE: ITRK) a leading international provider of testing, inspection and certification services will participate in the 5th Renewable Energy India 2011 Expo. The largest event in South Asia on renewable energy, supported by Government of India- Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, will be held at Pragati Maidan.

The 5th Renewable Energy India 2011 Expo is a global platform to jointly address policy initiatives and innovative finance models to accelerate development of collaborative R&D and technology transfers to India in the field of renewable. The Union Government aims to make India a global leader in solar energy and envisages an installed solar generation capacity of 20,000 MW by 2020, of 1,00,000 MW by 2030 and of 2,00,000 MW by 2050. This has created a huge opportunity for the Indian industry players who are into manufacturing of solar panels.

“India is endowed with vast solar energy potential and the Solar PV market has been growing exponentially over the past few years. With the growing demand for renewable resources of energy worldwide, solar panel manufacturers would play a major role in giving the consumers an opportunity to tap the solar energy by increasing their capacities.” said Saranpal “Sunny” Rai, Regional Vice President, Renewable Energy, Intertek, “on the other hand, Advancing technology, increasing demand and government incentives are giving rise to a heavy influx of new and improved PV solar panels.”

Intertek offers fast, expert testing and certification for AC Modules, Photovoltaic (PV) Modules, Charge Controllers, PV Power Units, Inverters, Converters, Accessories and Components around the world. And its state-of-the-art Photovoltaic (PV) testing and certification centers in Asia and the Americas enable module manufacturers to meet growing demand, get products to market faster, and provide critical performance data to support competitive differentiation.
