Vestas hires Senior Vice President, Global Research & Innovation for Houston office

Vestas, the world leader in providing high-tech wind power systems, has hired Pratima Rangarajan as its Senior Vice President of Global Research & Innovation, based in Houston.

In her new role, Dr. Rangarajan leads a global research team and a network of strategic partners on a mission to significantly reduce the cost of wind energy through industry-leading innovation. Her responsibilities include management of Vestas’ Global Research & Innovation organization worldwide from its headquarters in Houston.

Dr. Rangarajan earned a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Princeton University and a B.S. in chemical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

She brings more than 15 years of research and technology management experience at General Electric and Exxon. Most recently in a business role at GE Energy, her experience at GE also included several years with its Global Research team and as Vice President, Emerging Technology and Research at NBC Universal. She began her career at Exxon Chemical Company as a chemical engineer.
