EVE Energy Shenyang Base Officially Launches Operations

published: 2025-07-02 18:08

On June 30, EVE Energy’s Shenyang base—its first new energy battery facility in Liaoning—entered a new phase of development. Three major milestones were marked: the trial production of the EVE Energy Pilot Project, the commissioning of the Shenyang Systems Factory, and the establishment of the Battery Research Center for Cold Climate Applications. These developments officially signify the start of operations at the EVE Energy Shenyang Base.

Liaoning Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress Hao Peng, Governor Wang Xinwei, and EVE Energy Chairman Liu Jincheng attended the launch event. They toured the production lines and learned in detail about the performance and safety features of the lithium battery products. Hao Peng emphasized that Shenyang and relevant government departments should continue strengthening service and support, proactively solving issues, and accelerating the project's ramp-up to full production, helping the company grow further in Liaoning.

Notably, the newly established Battery Research Center for Cold Climate Applications will leverage EVE Energy’s technical expertise and collaborate with northeastern innovation platforms to develop new battery materials and technologies tailored for extreme cold conditions. The center aims to overcome critical technical challenges associated with battery performance degradation in low-temperature environments, significantly improving cold-weather endurance and charging/discharging efficiency. It aspires to become a national-level energy innovation platform and provide strong support for the green energy transition in China’s traditional industrial base in the northeast.

In addition, the Shenyang Systems Factory is the first facility in Northeast China with capabilities to produce both power and energy storage systems. It will implement a fully digitalized 3.0 smart manufacturing system, positioning itself as a model production line in the region. EVE Energy’s systems cluster covers both the power and storage battery sectors, with global manufacturing and delivery capabilities and a combined production capacity exceeding 200 GWh.

According to public information, Shenyang EVE Energy is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Huizhou-based EVE Energy, focusing on the production of high-reliability, low-temperature-resistant, high-energy-density storage and power batteries. EVE Energy is a high-tech enterprise specializing in the development and manufacturing of new energy batteries, with core technologies and complete solutions across consumer, power, and storage battery segments. Its major clients include Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover, XPeng, GAC Group, SANY, Powin, ABS, OPS, and TTI.

In 2022, EVE Energy announced an investment of RMB 10 billion to establish an R&D and manufacturing base for power and storage batteries in Shenyang. The first phase includes a system integration factory and the pilot project supporting NEV customers. In March 2023, Hao Peng attended the groundbreaking ceremony. With strong support from provincial and municipal governments, the project reached production-ready status by the end of June this year.

As a key national industrial base, Northeast China is actively implementing the national energy transition strategy. Liaoning Province is leveraging the new energy industry to drive high-quality economic development. According to officials from Tiexi District, the launch of EVE Energy’s Shenyang base will accelerate the region’s progress in emerging industries, ignite a “green engine,” foster new productive forces, and help Northeast China embark on a green, low-carbon, and high-quality path of revitalization.
