Tim Harris, CEO of SoloPower, a San Jose, California-based manufacturer of high efficiency, lightweight, and flexible thin-film solar cells and modules, will discuss New Business Models in the Renewables Market at the Deutsche Bank Securities 2012 Clean Tech, Utilities & Power Conference in New York on Monday, May 14, 2012.

Tim will describe SoloPower’s mission to make solar power the primary source of peak energy for the world’s commercial and industrial buildings in the context of technology and application innovation. He will discuss a vision for the ubiquitous use of solar energy, starting with smart integration into the building envelope to continue the work of solar pioneers and accelerate solar adoption worldwide.

SoloPower’s next generation solar panel recently achieved a record aperture area efficiency for flexible CIGS modules of 13.4%. The company is in the midst of unrolling its next generation of solar solutions and hiring for its state-of-the-art, high-volume manufacturing facility in Portland, Oregon, which will begin commercial production later this year. SoloPower’s operations in Portland are ultimately expected to have a capacity of 400MW and to bring 450 jobs to the local community.
