NorthGrid Solar Inks PV Deal with New Horizon Development Group for its Commercial Rooftops

NorthGrid Solar Inc. (“NorthGrid”), an Ontario-based Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) company, recently signed a turn-key EPC agreement with New Horizon Development Group for 4 of its commercial/industrial buildings. The systems total almost 600kW DC and are part of the Ontario Power Authority’s Feed In Tariff (FIT) Program.  Three of the projects, including the New Horizon Development Group head office, are located in Hamilton, ON. and one is located in Burlington, ON.

The projects utilize NorthGrid’s unique elevated truss system (ETS) which provides ongoing roof access, opportunity for greater revenue and optimized system performance to the project owner.  The ETS system is best suited for industrial, commercial or institutional buildings with a large number of rooftop units that cause shading or rooftops that are unable to support ballasted solar energy systems.

“NorthGrid is thrilled by the New Horizon commitment to its ETS system for these important projects.” said Carlo Di Gioacchino, President and CEO of NorthGrid Solar Inc.  “Having experienced builders of high-rise condominium projects select NorthGrid Solar for its commercial rooftops is a clear endorsement of our solution.” said Mr. Di Gioacchino.

“As builders and developers ourselves, we immediately recognized the benefits of NorthGrid’s solar PV solution.” said Jeff Paikin, President of New Horizon Development Group. “It’s in our best interest to select a solution that will respect our rooftops as well as last the full 20-year OPA contract life.” said Mr. Paikin.

NorthGrid Solar is scheduled to commence construction immediately.
