Gamesa to Deliver 48 MW of Its 2.0 MW Wind Turbines to Longyuan Group in China

Gamesa, a global technology leader in wind energy, has just signed a deal to supply 48 MW of capacity of its 2.0 MW wind turbines to Longyuan Group for a wind farm that the utility will built in Jiangkou of Fujian Province, in China.

Gamesa will start to deliver 24 sets of G87- 2.0 MW Class S and G90-2.0 MW wind turbines from October this year.

Taking into the coastal area and the altitude into consideration, Gamesa has specially prepared the kind of integrated solution for the client to maximize the performance of the turbines. G87-2.0 MW Class S includes design improvements to be able to be installed in close to Class I condition sites, increasing energy production compared to the former G80-2.0 MW Class I by more than 8%.

Up to now, Gamesa and Longyuan Group has jointly cooperated a total of 1,728 MW projects in the past years.

3,000 turbines installed in China

Gamesa in China operates as a turbine manufacturer and wind farm developer, a competitive advantage it strengthens through joint ventures with the country's major power companies (at a global and provincial level), thanks to its comprehensive knowledge of the wind energy industry.

Gamesa has operated in China since 2000, installing close to 3,000 turbines at more than 60 sites across the country.

As a wind farm developer, the company's joint development pipeline in China now totals around 3,000 MW.
