Aleo Modules Receive “Made in Europe” Bonus In France / Aleo BIPV Solution Passes Suction Load and Seismic Bench Test By CSTB

Aleo solar AG today announced that its modules have been certified for a “Made in Europe” bonus. This means that photovoltaic operators in France who use aleo modules will enjoy a feed-in-tariff bonus of up to ten percent. The VDE testing institute has certified that aleo modules are manufactured within the European Economic Area. All stages of production – from soldering the cells through to lamination and electrical testing – take place in Prenzlau (in the German federal state of Brandenburg), where aleo solar has produced solar modules for more than ten years.

A five percent bonus is granted for all modules from aleo. A ten percent bonus is available for aleo’s monocrystalline S_19 and S_79 modules, which consist of solar cells manufactured in Germany. The corresponding Solrif modules and laminates for building-integrated systems (BIPV) have also been certified. Adrien Darragon, Director Sales for aleo solar in France, said that the bonus will give authorised aleo installers a significant competitive advantage: “A ten percent higher feed-in-tariff considerably boosts the cost-effectiveness of a photovoltaic system.” The bonus is based on decrees issued by the French Ministry of the Environment on January 7, 2013.

In 2012, the aleo classic_sol kit including aleo Solrif modules and all of the materials required for a BIPV installation was successfully tested by the Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment (CSTB), the French building technology centre. According to the EN12179 standard and the results of the suction load bench test, the aleo kit is suitable for wind zone 3. “This means that the system can be installed everywhere in metropolitan France and is much stronger than the Solrif systems from many of our competitors”, says Adrien Darragon.

The stability of the aleo classic_sol kit was also checked for all kinds of buildings in seismic zones. This was the first time that photovoltaic systems were tested in France on a seismic bench at CSTB. All tests were successful: no deformations and no damage were detected. The aleo classic_sol kit is therefore suitable for every French region and territory, including the West Indies. Furthermore, it can be used for façade installations as well as all kinds of BIPV installations including the most demanding ones such as shopping centers, schools or other public buildings higher than 28 meters.
