According to EnergyTrend,in the past week, four enterprises including SVOLT, Samsung SDI, Skyworth Energy Storage and Hysea Energy Storage have successively announced updates on their energy storage orders, with a combined capacity of nearly 2.2 GWh. These orders cover large overseas energy storage projects and domestic commercial and industrial energy storage scenarios, including the large-scale deployment of sodium-ion batteries.
SVOLT Delivers 743 MWh Energy Storage Project in India
On October 23, SVOLT officially announced that the Adani Khavda 743 MWh energy storage project supplied and delivered by the company has been put into operation. For this project, SVOLT provides an energy storage system integration solution, adopting stacked cells paired with liquid cooling temperature control systems to adapt to the local high-temperature operating conditions.
The energy storage project is located in the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in Gujarat, India. The site is a world-class renewable energy base developed by Adani Green Energy. It has a long-term planned total wind and solar installed capacity of 30 GW and an overall planned energy storage capacity of 3.53 GWh, making it one of India’s largest wind-solar-storage clusters.
Samsung SDI Secures 1 GWh Large Energy Storage Contract in the US
On October 26, per Samsung SDI’s official press release and Yonhap News Agency, Samsung SDI America (SDIA) has signed a 1 GWh energy storage system supply agreement with Alpha Omega Power (AOP).
The core product under this contract is Samsung SDI’s SBB 1.7 all-in-one energy storage solution, which uses high-nickel NCA prismatic batteries. All cells and modules for the project will be manufactured at the StarPlus Energy (SPE) plant in Kokomo, Indiana, with deliveries scheduled before the end of this year.
Public information shows that SPE is a joint venture between Samsung SDI and Stellantis. Regarding project application, Samsung SDI stated that AOP intends to deploy these energy storage solutions for large power projects in the WECC and ERCOT power markets, with construction to kick off next year.
Skyworth Energy Storage Signs 50 MWh C&I Energy Storage Project
On October 22, Skyworth Energy Storage announced that it has recently secured another 50 MWh domestic commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage project. The client of this project is a domestic high-energy-consumption enterprise, and the system will be applied in a microgrid scenario.
Alongside the 50 MWh order, Skyworth Energy Storage’s 2.508 MW / 5.016 MWh solar-storage integrated project has been successfully implemented in Kaifeng. Equipment has arrived on site and is pending commissioning and acceptance. Adopting a containerized energy storage solution, Skyworth Energy Storage is responsible for the design and supply of the energy storage system. This marks Skyworth Energy Storage’s first 5 MWh containerized solar-storage integrated project in Henan Province.
Hysea Energy Storage Supplies 400 MWh Power Station
On October 21, the Heze Puyuan 200 MW / 400 MWh standalone energy storage power station was successfully connected to the grid. The project is equipped with Hysea’s standardized 5 MWh liquid-cooled energy storage systems, supplemented by a 2.5 MW / 5 MWh sodium-ion energy storage system.
The Heze Puyuan energy storage station is a key new energy storage project included in Shandong Province’s 2024 project roster, with a total capacity of 200 MW / 400 MWh.
The supporting 2.5 MW / 5 MWh sodium-ion battery demonstration system consists of two sets of 1.25 MW / 2.5 MWh sodium-ion energy storage containers. It represents one of the first large-scale practical deployments of sodium-ion batteries in standalone energy storage projects across Shandong Province.
