Recently, several energy storage enterprises have sequentially disclosed new orders and project developments, spanning key sectors such as sodium-ion batteries and energy storage Power Conversion Systems (PCS).
HiNa Battery Signs 10 GWh Long-Term Sodium-Ion Battery Supply Agreement
On September 2, HiNa Battery Technology Co., Ltd. (HiNa Battery) officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with South Korea's VOLTA Co., Ltd. Building on their previous collaboration on a 15 MWh energy storage project, both parties will advance a 5-year, 10 GWh long-term supply agreement for sodium-ion batteries.
Under the agreement, HiNa Battery will supply sodium-ion cells to VOLTA, covering diverse application scenarios that include utility-scale, commercial and industrial (C&I), and residential energy storage. VOLTA will be responsible for system integration and local market promotion in South Korea, while Kwangwoon University will participate in technical verification, research and development, and testing.
Sineng Electric's 602 MWh Energy Storage Project Commissioned in Bulgaria
Recently, the Burgas energy storage power station in Bulgaria, powered by equipment from Sineng Electric Co., Ltd. (Sineng Electric), was officially put into operation. With a storage capacity of 602 MWh, it currently stands as one of the largest operational energy storage plants in Eastern Europe.
The project was executed by Solarpro Technology, a European project developer and O&M provider, with Sineng Electric supplying 150 MW of central energy storage PCS.
For this station, Sineng Electric provided its 6.9 MW central turn-key stations, which are composed of 1,725 kW central PCS units. This system perfectly matches the new-generation 6 MWh battery containers, significantly reducing both EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) costs and the overall footprint of the facility.
Zonergy Completes Delivery of Over 10 MWh of Sodium-Ion Battery Cells
Recently, Zonergy Company Limited (Zonergy) completed a bulk delivery of over 10 MWh of sodium-ion battery cells. The delivered products consist of the model 72174 170Ah sodium-ion cells, which will be applied in sodium-ion energy storage projects serving a major Chinese central state-owned enterprise (SOE) and a solar-plus-storage project in Xinjiang.
According to reports, the delivered sodium-ion cells belong to Zonergy's "Arctic" series, specifically designed for energy storage scenarios in extreme environments characterized by high altitudes and low temperatures. Previously, this series of products was deployed in a sodium-ion energy storage project in Shigatse, Tibet, in June 2025, and has successfully undergone over a year of operational validation.
