July Energy Storage Bidding Volume: 54.4 GWh
According to incomplete statistics from TrendForce New Energy Research, in July 2026, newly added domestic energy storage bidding in China reached 15.97 GW / 54.4 GWh, up 46% and 54% year-on-year respectively, but down 9% and 32% month-on-month.
- Newly added bidding for EPC projects reached 13.71 GW / 39.98 GWh, down 8% and 4% month-on-month respectively. Shanxi, Xinjiang, and Inner Mongolia performed notably well, with monthly bidding volumes exceeding 4 GWh each.
- Newly added bidding for energy storage systems reached 2.26 GW / 14.42 GWh, down 14% and 63% month-on-month respectively, mainly affected by the reduced scale of framework and centralized procurement projects this month.

Independent Storage Accounts for 80% Share
By bidding type, independent storage bidding reached 14.45 GW / 44.11 GWh, with a total of 10 GWh level projects mainly distributed across Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Hebei, and Shanxi. Framework/centralized procurement projects accounted for 0.6 GW / 9.38 GWh, or 17% of the total. Renewable energy allocation storage accounted for 2%, primarily wind and solar paired storage. Commercial & industrial (C&I) storage accounted for only 1%.

July Energy Storage Winning Bid Volume: 29.88 GWh
Data from TrendForce New Energy Research shows that in July 2026, newly added domestic energy storage winning bids in China reached 12.23 GW / 29.88 GWh, down 19% and 33% monthonmonth respectively. Largescale renewable energy base projects continued to gain momentum, releasing demand for renewable energy allocation storage.
- Newly added winning bids for EPC projects reached 10.77 GW / 26.47 GWh, down 8% and 24% month-on-month respectively. Shanxi led the pack with a winning bid scale of 5.97 GWh.
- Newly added winning bids for energy storage systems reached 1.46 GW / 3.41 GWh, down sharply by 55% and 64% month-on-month. Two photovoltaic projects within the Zhejiang Energy Group Gansu Tengger Desert Hexi New Energy Base contributed more than half of the incremental energy storage system volume.

2 Hour System Weighted Average Price: RMB 0.56/Wh
In July 2026, energy storage system winning bid prices edged down slightly, while overall EPC prices rose.
- The 2 hour energy storage system winning bid price ranged from RMB 0.53 to 1.04/Wh, with a weighted average price of RMB 0.56/Wh, down 2% month-on-month.
- The 4 hour energy storage system weighted average price was RMB 0.50/Wh, down 6% month-on-month (based on only one valid quote, so the data is for reference only).
