Top 10 Global Energy Storage Cell Manufacturers by H1 2026 Shipments

published: 2026-08-14 16:38

According to data from the TrendForce Global Energy Storage Supply Chain Database, global energy storage cell shipments exceeded 460 GWh in the first half of 2026, marking a year-on-year surge of approximately 94% as the global energy storage market entered a period of rapid expansion.

01 Overall Shipment Rankings: CR10 at ~84%

In terms of overall H1 2026 shipments, market concentration in the global energy storage cell industry further shifted toward top players. The CR3 (top 3) companies commanded roughly 44% of the market, while the CR10 (top 10) reached approximately 84%. The industry landscape reflects one dominant leader alongside several strong contenders:

Top 1: CATL firmly holds the top position with shipments more than double that of the runner-up, continuously expanding its economies of scale.

Top 2–7: HiTHIUM, EVE Energy, BYD, CALB, Chuneng New Energy, and REPT BATTERO, respectively. Shipments for each of these companies exceeded 30 GWh in H1, leading to fierce competition and high rank volatility.

Top 8–10: Envision Energy, Great Power, and Sunwoda. Chinese enterprises now effectively dominate the global core market for energy storage cells.

02 Utility & C&I Energy Storage Shipments: ~407 GWh

TrendForce data shows that global shipments of utility-scale and commercial & industrial (C&I) energy storage cells reached approximately 407 GWh in H1 2026, representing a year-on-year growth of about 92%. Concentration in this segment is even higher, with the CR10 holding over 86% market share.

TrendForce analysts noted that utility-scale storage imposes strict requirements on qualifications, financial execution capability, and long-term warranty reliability. High technical and capital barriers are accelerating the consolidation of orders toward tier-1 manufacturers.

Top 1: CATL maintains a standout advantage, securely holding the top spot.

Top 2–5: HiTHIUM, EVE Energy, BYD, and CALB, respectively. Maintaining their positions from Q1, these players serve as the primary drivers of utility and C&I energy storage deliveries.

Top 6–10: Chuneng New Energy, Envision Energy, REPT BATTERO, Sunwoda, and Gotion High-Tech. These manufacturers form the defensive and offensive frontline of the top 10, each leveraging distinct competitive strategies.

03 Residential Storage Cell Shipments Exceed 53 GWh

Compared to the utility market, residential energy storage cells demonstrated even stronger momentum in H1 2026. TrendForce data indicates that global residential energy storage cell shipments exceeded 53 GWh in the first half, up roughly 113% year-on-year.

In terms of market structure, the residential segment exhibited extreme concentration, with the CR10 reaching 94%, effectively locking up nearly the entire market for the top 10 vendors.

Top 1–3: REPT BATTERO, Great Power, and EVE Energy led the global market. Together, this trio accounted for approximately 68% market share, establishing a clear lead over followers.

Top 4–5: Gotion High-Tech and Chuneng New Energy form the challenger group, accelerating product upgrades to gain ground.

Top 6–10: Pylontech, Ampace, Ganfeng LiEnergy, LG Energy Solution, and BYD. These companies pursue specialized strategies, maintaining strong positions across niche distribution channels and specific regional markets.

04 2026 Full-Year Shipments Target 1,012 GWh

TrendForce energy storage analysts noted that the shipment surge in H1 2026 stemmed from two primary factors: a post-inventory destocking restocking wave in Europe and concentrated project deliveries in the Middle East and North America. As cell prices gradually bottom out, market competition has shifted from price wars to a broader contest of overall capabilities—including warranty terms, overseas localized service, and secure execution capacity.

Driven by strong first-half momentum, TrendForce projects total global energy storage cell shipments to reach approximately 1,012 GWh in 2026—a full-year growth rate of nearly 50%—with high industry prosperity expected through the second half of the year.
