Taiwanese Solar Stocks Drop Before USITC’s Announcement of the Preliminary Phase

published: 2014-02-14 17:46

On February 14th (EST), the U.S. International Trade Committee (ITC) will announce the preliminary phase anti-dumping and countervailing investigation of certain PV products from China and Taiwan. Consequently, some Taiwanese solar stocks dropped.

According to EnergyTrend’s analysis and evaluation from the industry, the investigation is likely to be filed, which means that some crystalline silicon PV products made in Taiwan and China do cause certain loss to the US’s PV industry. Higher tariffs will be imposed once the case is filed, Taiwanese PV-related stocks therefore dropped on February 13th, showing a negative concern. Stocks of some Taiwanese manufacturers like SAS, Green Energy Technology and Neo Solar Power Corp. dropped about 2% yesterday.
