JinkoSolar’s production facility for solar cells and modules in Malaysia has officially begun operations. The company also noted that the production capacity has been almost fully booked.

The production facility has started ramping on schedule and was expected reach capacity within two months. The fast ramp was said to be due to the capacity from the facility being almost fully booked by downstream orders, said  Mr. Kangping Chen, Chief Executive Officer of JinkoSolar.

The production facility has begun to produce high efficiency cells and multi-cyrstalline modules. Its full production capacity of cells is 500MW per year, and of modules is 450MW annually

"With the strong support of the local government and MIDA (Malaysian Industrial Development Authority), we were able to rapidly build and begin production in our new facility in Penang, Malaysia," commented Mr. Chen. "We have great confidence in the development of our new Malaysian production facility and the local business environment."
