Lerri Solar, a subsidiary of LONGi, has signed to invest RMB 2.5 billion in constructing mono-si PV cell and module manufacturing facilities in Xi’an Economic & Technological Development Zone, China. Along with the production line establishment, Lerri Solar will also turn to headquarter at the zone in early 2016.

Lerri Solar announced the deal with the Xi’an Economic & Technological Development Zone this week. Over the next three years, Lerri Solar will establish a 500MW monocrystalline PV cell production line and manufacturing plants with 3GW of PV module production capacity in the Zone. In addition, Lerri Solar will start build and tune a 500MW high efficiency mono-si PV module automatic production line in 2016 as the first phase development of the total 3GW capacity.

In July, Lerri Solar announced to add 2GW of mono-si PERC production capacity in China through an approximately RMB 2.8 billion investment. The plant is expected to be completed and start operation in mid-2018.

LONGi is a Xi’an-based company. On this basis, Lerri Solar’s new production lines and headquarters built in the city will further consolidate its advantages through reducing transport costs and expanding rooms for larger production capacity. The location will also bring Lerri Solar closer to its customers in the Western and Northern China.

In the future, Lerri Solar will expand its domestic and overseas markets from its Xi’an headquarters. Currently, Lerri Solar has established domestic manufacturing facilities in Xi’an, Quzhou, Hefei, Taizhou, and abroad facilities in India and other countries.
