Kymco Begins Electric Scooter Shipment amidst Initiation of Global Express Ionex S6

published: 2021-12-10 9:30

The latest electric scooter Ionex S6 of Kymco is officially available this month. Kymco has also started its deployment in logistics fleets by showcasing its first model customized for Global Express.

One of the main drivers behind the Kymco Ionex electric scooter’s market expansion is its B2B partners. Under the strategic operation of treasury capital, Kymco is working with Grab in Southeast Asia, which allows Ionex to step foot in Indonesia, as well as collaborating with Taiwan Taxi in marching towards the logistics market.

Global Express, under Taiwan Taxi, officially formed an alliance with Kymco in June this year, and hopes to facilitate industrial transformation and upgrade through an incorporation of electric scooters. The first Ionex model that will be used for logistics will be the urban model S6.

As can be seen from the latest product shots, the Global Express S6 is fully painted in yellow, and is accompanied by parts in black, making it quite a refreshing combination. Kymco is also working with Global Express by creating an exclusive shelf for loading procedures, and is refining on the structure of the vehicle, allowing logistics staffs to transport cargos in an easier and safer manner.

The B2B partnership offers two major benefits for EVs. First is the number of direct orders. Despite having yet to announce the delivery quantity, Global Express dispatches roughly 3K vehicles each day, and merely 10% of electrification would yield a sizable degree of growth for Ionex that has just started.

The second benefit is advertisement. Consumers are obviously not going to buy just any vehicle that they have never seen before, and the increase in Ionex S6’s exposure on the street would naturally increase consumers’ confidence and curiosity, which in turn stimulates sales.

Ionex offers another advantage for commercial fleets, and that is the ability to choose between charging and battery swapping variations, where the charging variation eliminates the need of swapping batteries for the drivers in midway for logistics companies that have fixed locations and car parks. If Kymco is willing to offer more affordable tariff plans, it will be even more competitive.
