CECEP Solar Energy Technology Co. Ltd. announced on April 14 that it will develop a PV project in Yongxin County (Jiangxi Province) and another one in Libo County (Guizhou Province). The related investments and development efforts will be channeled through its local subsidiaries or special vehicles. The 100MW project in Yongxin will integrate forestry with PV, whereas the 200MW project in Libo will integrate agriculture with PV. CECEP Solar Energy will invest RMB 436.2759 million into the Yongxin project and RMB 745.460 million into the Libo project. The company’s announcement was first picked up by Chinese news outlets.

In its announcement, CECEP Solar Energy Technology also said that as of the end of last year, it had 4.27GW of PV power plants in operation and 0.7GW of PV power plants under construction. Moreover, projects in development had come to 1.12GW. These include ones being planned, ones that had been registered as grid-parity or unsubsidized projects, and ones that had secured a PPA. All in all, the company’s portfolio had reached around 6.09GW at the end of last year.

The Libo project is envisioned by the company as an “agro-voltaic” project that is connected to the local grid. Once up and running, the project will contribute to the revenue generation of the company’s main business unit. It will also contribute to a further increase in the scale of the company’s PV system installation and electricity production.

Established in 2009, CECEP Solar Energy Technology is a subsidiary of China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP Group). The parent company has been involved in the development of PV power plants and wind farms. In addition to project development, CECEP Solar Energy Technology also engages in the R&D and manufacturing of PV cells and component for PV systems.
