Nearly 4GWh! EVE Energy and Two Others Announce New Energy Storage Orders

published: 2025-06-17 11:01

Recently, several domestic and international companies have announced updates regarding new energy storage orders, with a combined disclosed capacity of approximately 4GWh from EVE Energy, Samsung SDI, and TotalEnergies.

EVE Energy: Secures 2GWh Energy Storage Cell Order
Sanjing Electric recently announced the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement with EVE Energy. The two parties have reached a project cooperation intention for 2GWh of energy storage cells. According to the agreement, EVE Energy will provide customized support for its battery products to ensure seamless integration with Sanjing Electric’s energy storage systems, aiming to jointly develop smart energy solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial scenarios.

In the residential storage segment, the latest all-in-one solar-storage-charging machine from Sanjing Electric will be equipped with EVE Energy’s battery and integrated with an intelligent energy management system to optimize household electricity usage in real time, coordinating solar generation and energy storage. In the commercial and industrial sector, both parties will offer tailored solutions for energy projects, achieving efficient power dispatching and peak-valley arbitrage through deeply integrated systems. Following this strategic signing, the two companies will further deepen cooperation in international markets, promote localized adaptation of energy storage systems and battery technologies, and deliver smart energy solutions to global clients.

TotalEnergies: Secures Phase One of 500MW/2000MWh Project in Japan
Saft, the battery and energy storage system subsidiary of TotalEnergies, has been appointed as the technology provider by renewable energy developer Gurin Energy for a large-scale battery energy storage project in Fukushima, Japan. This marks the first phase of Gurin Energy’s 500MW/2000MWh project announced at the end of 2023, representing the developer’s entry into the Japanese market.

Gurin Energy specializes in the development and operation of energy storage, solar, and wind assets. Its project in Soma City, Fukushima, is currently the largest publicly announced battery storage project in Japan. The 2GWh plan is expected to require approximately 1GWh of batteries for the first phase. Saft will supply fully integrated containerized lithium-ion storage systems, which include integration with third-party power conversion systems (PCS), energy management systems (EMS), and Saft’s proprietary cloud monitoring and data management platform, i-Sight. Saft will also be responsible for installation, commissioning, and maintenance, with construction expected to begin in early 2026.

Samsung SDI: To Supply Samsung Battery Boxes (SBB) to Tesvolt
On June 11, Samsung SDI signed an agreement with Tesvolt, a full-service provider of innovative utility and commercial-scale energy storage solutions in Germany, to supply batteries for Tesvolt’s energy storage systems.

Under the agreement, Samsung SDI will deliver its Samsung Battery Boxes (SBB) to Tesvolt by the end of this month. Tesvolt will integrate power conversion systems and cybersecurity features into the SBB units and offer its proprietary storage solutions to European clients. The SBB is a 20-foot container equipped with battery cells, modules, and racks, ready for grid connection and immediate deployment. It has gained recognition in global markets, including the U.S. and Europe, for its enhanced safety features.

Samsung SDI plans to complete deliveries of the current SBB 1.0 model and begin supplying the upgraded SBB 1.5 model starting in Q2 next year. The SBB 1.5, launched last year, offers improvements in capacity, safety, and ease of installation and operation. In addition to this latest agreement, the two companies will continue discussions on further battery supply cooperation and enhance their partnership through joint marketing activities to explore future business opportunities.
