Total Investment Exceeds 13.8 Billion RMB: 7 Companies Including Ronbay Technology Announce New Battery Project Updates

EnergyTrend learned that at the end of July, seven companies—Guangdong Shanhui, Yinnengji, ECH, Ronbay Technology, Solidlight, Tuoyi Guneng, and GEM—announced new projects for batteries and supporting materials. The projects cover sub-sectors such as all-solid-state batteries, solid-liquid hybrid cells, sodium-ion battery cathodes, and solid-state battery materials, with a total investment scale exceeding 13.8 billion RMB.

 

3GWh All-Solid-State Battery Finished Product Project Approved for Filing

On July 31, Guangdong Shanhui's all-solid-state battery finished product project was approved for filing. Located in Dongcheng Town, Yangdong District, Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province, the project involves a planned total investment of 2 billion RMB to construct a 3GWh all-solid-state battery finished product project.

The project covers an area of approximately 90,000 square meters, with a total floor area of about 180,000 square meters. It will be constructed in two phases: Phase I will rent 24,629 square meters of plant space, while Phase II plans to occupy a plant area of about 155,000 square meters. The project will build cell assembly production lines and battery pack production lines using materials containing zinc, manganese, nano-silicon-carbon materials, etc., to produce digital batteries, agricultural machinery batteries, drone batteries, power and energy storage batteries, etc.

 

Annual Capacity of 10GWh Cells and 10GWh Modules! Yinnengji's Sodium-Ion Battery Project Expected to Settle in Hengyang, Hunan

According to news from "Songmu Economic Development Zone", on July 31, Qiu Shouhai, Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee of Songmu Economic Development Zone in Hengyang City, Hunan Province, met with Fu Shengqun, General Manager of Yinnengji (Hunan) New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (in preparation), and his delegation. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions regarding the landing of the sodium-ion battery production base project.

Fu Shengqun stated that Yinnengji has established three major production bases in Sichuan, Guangdong, and Henan. In April 2025, the company initiated the site selection for its central base. After multiple rounds of comprehensive evaluation, Songmu Economic Development Zone was deemed to have superior overall conditions, and the project is planned to land in Hengyang, Hunan. Once fully operational, the project is expected to achieve an annual production capacity of 10GWh of cells and 10GWh of modules.

 

ECH Plans Investment in Solid-Liquid Hybrid Cell Project

On July 31, ECH announced that its holding subsidiary, Shanghai Keyuan Guneng New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., introduced investor Jinyun Litai Venture Capital Partnership (Limited Partnership) through a targeted capital increase. Jinyun Litai intends to contribute 40 million RMB to subscribe for 833,333 RMB of Keyuan Guneng's newly increased registered capital.

Furthermore, ECH plans to establish a wholly-owned subsidiary under its holding subsidiary Keyuan Guneng, through which it will implement a 0.5GWh solid-liquid hybrid cell and 500 tons/year solid electrolyte powder industrialization project in Jinyun County, Lishui City, Zhejiang Province. The planned investment amount is 100 million RMB, with a planned construction period of 2 years.

The equity financing funds of 40 million RMB from Keyuan Guneng's targeted capital increase are intended to be invested in the 0.5GWh solid-liquid hybrid cell and 500 tons/year solid electrolyte powder industrialization project.

 

Ronbay Technology Plans Investment in Sodium-Ion Battery Cathode Material Project

On July 30, Ronbay Technology officially signed a Project Investment Contract with the People's Government of Xiantao City, intending to invest in and construct the Xiantao 300,000-ton/year Sodium-Ion Battery Cathode Material Integrated Project.

It is reported that the total investment amount of the project is 4.723 billion RMB, which will be developed in three phases: Phase I (50,000 tons), Phase II (100,000 tons), and Phase III (150,000 tons). Among them, Phase I is expected to be completed and commissioned in May 2027, which will boost Ronbay Technology's large-scale delivery capabilities in the field of sodium-ion battery cathode materials.

As of now, Ronbay Technology has built an NFPP sodium-ion battery cathode production capacity of 18,000 tons/year, of which the 12,000-ton revamped production line in Guizhou Xinren has achieved stable mass production, and the 6,000-ton sodium-ion pilot line in Xiantao has completed process and equipment verification.

 

Solidlight Signs Agreement for Solid-State Battery Project

On July 30, a signing ceremony was held for Solidlight's project with an annual capacity of 20 million high-energy-density solid-state batteries, during which Solidlight signed an investment cooperation agreement with the Nanping New Battery Industrial Park.

The project is located in the New Battery Industrial Park of Wuyi New District, with a planned total investment of approximately 1 billion RMB. Upon full production of Phase I, the expected annual output value will be about 2 billion RMB, marking Solidlight's first large-scale mass production base.

 

Public Announcement Released for 30GWh Solid-State Battery Project

On July 29, the Government of Tumed Left Banner released a public announcement, indicating that the new solid-state battery project of Tuoyi Guneng (Inner Mongolia) Technology Co., Ltd. entered the public notice phase.

According to the public notice, the project is located in the Chilechuan Dairy Development Zone, Tumed Left Banner, Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia. The project covers a planned total area of approximately 1,000 mu (approx. 66.7 hectares), with a planned total investment of 6 billion RMB. The project will be constructed in three phases, with each phase investing 2 billion RMB to construct a 10GWh/year solid-state battery production line, forming a total annual capacity of 30GWh. Main construction contents include production workshops, office buildings, warehouses, and related supporting facilities.

 

Jiangsu 500 Tons/Year Solid-State Battery Material Project Approved

According to the official website of the "Wuxi Data Bureau", on July 29, the pilot and industrialization base project for high-performance solid-state battery cathode and electrolyte materials invested and constructed by GEM (Wuxi) Energy Materials Co., Ltd. was approved.

Reports indicate that the project involves an investment of 120 million RMB, utilizing vacant areas of currently leased plant space in the South Plant Area to build a solid-state battery material base integrating R&D, pilot testing, and mass production.

The project plans an annual R&D and mass production capacity of 500 tons of solid-state battery materials. Upon completion, the South Plant Area will possess a production capacity of 10,150 t/a of ternary materials, 500 t/a of high-performance solid-state battery materials, 16,900 t/a of high-energy-density ternary materials, 1.362 million units/year of components such as electrical/electronic, motor construction, and speed reduction parts, and development and testing capacity for 50,000 units/year of 4Ah polymer lithium-ion pouch cells.
