CATL has partnered with renewable energy developer ACEnergy to supply 3GWh of energy storage battery systems (BESS) in Australia.

The Chinese manufacturer announced the scope of this new collaboration on LinkedIn recently: CATL will provide supply and integration services for three energy storage battery system projects developed by ACEnergy in Australia.

These three projects include the Yanco project in New South Wales, as well as the Joel Joel and Little River energy storage battery system projects in Victoria.

CATL confirmed that it will provide design, supply, testing, commissioning and integration services for energy storage battery systems (BESS), medium-voltage power stations (MVPS), inverters, power plant controllers (PPC), energy management systems (EMS), and data acquisition and monitoring systems (SCADA) for these projects, ensuring that the projects fully meet grid requirements and feature world-class safety and performance.

Among them, the Yanco energy storage battery system project has a scale of 250MW/1100MWh, covering an area of approximately 8 hectares. It is located 5 kilometers south of the town of Leeton (Leeton is about 500 kilometers west of Sydney, the capital of New South Wales).

The project will store electricity generated by a nearby large-scale solar photovoltaic power station, with a construction cost of approximately 250 million Australian dollars (equivalent to 160 million US dollars).
