As learned from EnergyTrend, multiple energy storage capacity construction projects have been successively launched, covering the entire industrial chain including cell production, system integration and R&D of cutting-edge solid-state batteries. The development of China's energy storage industry toward large-scale, high-end and intelligent manufacturing has been accelerated.
Cubenergy's 15 GWh Energy Storage Base Topped Out
On December 19th, the energy storage intelligent manufacturing base invested and constructed by Cubenergy in Changzhou National Hi-Tech District reached a new milestone, with the main structure of its 15 GWh "super factory" successfully topped out.
Located in Changzhou National Hi-Tech District with a well-established industrial supporting system, the base covers a land area of 33,269 square meters with a total building area of approximately 55,042 square meters. Designed with an annual production capacity of 15 GWh, the project is scheduled to be fully put into operation by the end of the second quarter of 2026.
According to sources, based on long-term order forecasts and procurement plans, the base has introduced 10 sets of industry-leading core production lines in one phase, fully covering the key manufacturing processes from battery cells to system integration. The specific configuration also includes a custom-built system assembly line for industrial & commercial energy storage and large-scale energy storage power stations, meeting the demand for large-scale customized delivery.
RMB 5.5 Billion: 27 GWh Cell Project Signed in Shandong
On the afternoon of December 19th, the People's Government of Feicheng City, Shandong Province, signed a cooperation agreement on the Feicheng 27 GWh battery cell production project with Pengcheng Infinite New Energy Co., Ltd. and Ruineng Electric Power Co., Ltd.
With a total investment of RMB 5.5 billion, the project adopts industry-leading high-speed automated production lines to manufacture 500Ah+ large-capacity battery cells dedicated for energy storage, covering the entire processes of pre and post battery cell production.
Meanwhile, the project extensively applies cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), big data and artificial intelligence (AI) to build a highly automated, digitalized and intelligent lights-out factory. Its technical indicators including production efficiency, product consistency and energy utilization rate all rank among the top tier of the industry. After reaching full production capacity, the project is expected to achieve an annual output value of over RMB 8 billion.
RMB 360 Million: 1 GWh Solid-State Battery Project Settled in Zhejiang
On December 19th, the 1 GWh MOFs solid-state battery production base project, jointly invested and constructed by Hong Kong Fansheng International Trade Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Weizhen New Material Technology Co., Ltd. and Mianyang Liyuan New Energy Co., Ltd., was officially signed and settled in the South Taihu New Area of Zhejiang Province.
With a total investment of RMB 360 million, the project plans to build a 1 GWh solid-state battery cell production line, and is committed to building China’s first R&D headquarters for MOFs solid-state electrolytes and core battery materials.
