CIBF Battery Technology Exhibition: 587/588Ah Emerge as Mainstream Energy Storage Cell Specifications

published: 2026-05-18 18:09

According to EnergyTrend, the 18th Shenzhen International Battery Fair & Exhibition (CIBF 2026) was held in Shenzhen from May 13 to 15. Our onsite inspection covered a wide range of new battery products and cuttingedge energystorage solutions.

Exhibitors showcased strong technological competitiveness with products including BYD’s 2710Ah Blade Battery, Sunwoda’s massproduced 684Ah stacked cells (over 2 million units shipped), Shuangdeng’s 755Ah semisolidstate energystorage system, and China Sodium Battery’s worldfirst 588Ah largeformat sodiumion cell.

In addition, major energystorage cell manufacturers such as REPT BATTERO, EVE Energy, Ganfeng Lithium and Great Power presented their flagship products to meet fullscenario energystorage demands.

Combining insights from ESIE 2026 Beijing Energy Storage Exhibition in April and CIBF 2026, it is evident that 587Ah and 588Ah have become the mainstream nextgeneration utilityscale energystorage cell specifications being rolled out widely.

Among key exhibited products, 587Ah and 588Ah are the two most concentrated capacity segments targeted by leading cell makers.

As observed through multiple onsite visits by EnergyTrend, the 587Ah battery, first proposed by top manufacturers including CATL and Hithium, has achieved mass production and delivery. Other exhibitors launching 587Ah products include Great Power, Envision Energy,Youngy Co., Ltd., Pengcheng Wuxian and  Higee Energy.

Alongside 587Ah cells, 588Ah has also been adopted by multiple leading cell producers. CORNEX, REPT BATTERO, Sunwoda, CALB and others highlighted their 588Ahrelated products, with plans for mass production or bulk delivery within 2026.

Moreover, highcapacity energystorage cells of 600Ah and above have become a major industry trend. Cell products from Envision Energy, EVE Energy, CALB, Sunwoda, Gotion Hightech and Hithium range from 628Ah to 790Ah, with some already massproduced and delivered.

Notably, BYD’s 2710Ah energystoragespecific Blade Cell, currently the world’s highestcapacity cell, features ultralarge capacity, high integration and low cost. It has entered largescale delivery in 2026, with its first batch of Haohao systems deployed in energystorage projects across multiple provinces, mainly for largescale powerside and gridside power stations.

In addition, the industry features diversified technical routes and accelerated industrialization of sodiumion batteries. Multiple enterprises showcased new sodiumion products, with a markedly higher number of energystorage sodiumion battery exhibits compared with previous years.

CATL, Great Power and China Sodium Battery Group displayed new products, signaling that sodiumion batteries are shifting from technological R&D toward product verification and realworld deployment.
