EnergyTrend learned that Canadian Solar, Narada Power and CORNEX announced the securing of large-scale energy storage orders on the same day, respectively clinching a 503MWh standalone energy storage project order in the US, a 1.5GWh standalone energy storage project order and a long-term supply order of over 5GWh.
503MWh: Canadian Solar Secures US Energy Storage Order
On February 5, Canadian Solar announced that its subsidiary Canadian Solar Energy Storage has entered into a cooperation agreement with Sunraycer, a US clean energy power station developer, to provide energy storage systems and long-term operation and maintenance (O&M) services for two standalone energy storage projects in Texas, the US, with a total project capacity of 503MWh.
The projects under this cooperation are the Lupinus Projects, developed by Sunraycer and constructed in two phases. Lupinus Phase I has a capacity of 202MWh, scheduled to break ground in Q1 2027 and commence commercial operation in Q3 2027; Lupinus Phase II covers 301MWh, with construction planned to start in Q3 2026 and commercial operation to launch in Q2 2027.
Pursuant to the agreement, Canadian Solar Energy Storage will supply its independently developed SolBank 3.0 energy storage systems for the projects and provide a 10-year long-term O&M service. It is reported that the SolBank 3.0 energy storage systems adopt battery cells independently researched, developed and manufactured by Canadian Solar.
1.5GWh: Narada Power Wins Standalone Energy Storage Project Order
On February 5, Narada Power announced the recent securing of a 1.5GWh standalone energy storage project order in Gansu Province.
The project plans to construct a 1.5GWh lithium iron phosphate electrochemical standalone energy storage power station, which will include 300 sets of 5MWh energy storage battery containers and 75 sets of 5MW integrated booster cabins.
Earlier in January, Narada Power won the bid for standalone energy storage projects with a total installed capacity of 235MWh in the Greek energy storage market. The company will provide a complete energy storage system solution including AC and DC side equipment, with the DC side adopting the company’s Center L Plus 5MWh liquid-cooled energy storage system.
5GWh: CORNEX Signs Energy Storage Cooperation Agreement with Hefu Intelligent Energy
On February 5, CORNEX and Hefei Hefu Intelligent Energy held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony, where the two parties reached multiple consensuses on deepening cooperation in the energy storage industry. CORNEX will supply more than 5GWh of energy storage products to Hefu Intelligent Energy within the next two years.
