In January 2026, domestic PV module tendering volume reached 8.46 GW, with N-type products accounting for over 90%. Awarded (including shortlisted) scale hit 3.22 GW, led by Huansheng, JA Solar and Astronergy. Bidding prices ranged from 0.741–0.775 yuan/W, with a slight rise in the average price of N-type modules. Delivery arrangements were flexible, meeting both short-term delivery needs and long-term reserve plans.
Tendering: 8.46 GW, N-type Share Exceeds 90%
According to incomplete statistics from EnergyTrend, China’s PV module tendering volume in January 2026 was approximately 8.46 GW. The largest project was Huadian Corporation’s 8 GW centralized procurement, contributing 94.6% of the month’s total tendering.Affected by multiple factors including the implementation of Document No.136, the cancellation of export tax rebates, and the approaching Spring Festival holiday, the overall pace of module tendering slowed noticeably in January.
In terms of technology route, among the 8.46 GW of tendered projects, 8.24 GW was explicitly designated as N-type modules, accounting for 97.5%. Meanwhile, demand for high-efficiency modules continued to grow: 6 GW of Huadian Corporation’s 8 GW centralized procurement was earmarked for high-efficiency N-type modules, with a minimum conversion efficiency requirement of ≥23.8%.
Awarded Volume: 3.22 GW, Strong Demand for BC Modules
Based on EnergyTrend incomplete statistics, the total scale of projects with announced awarded results and candidates in January 2026 reached 3.22 GW (all finalized awards). Due to non-disclosure in some projects, the volume corresponding to the first-ranked bidder was temporarily 0 GW.
In terms of awarded share, the top three enterprises were:
Huansheng: 710 MW
JA Solar: 480 MW
Astronergy: 300 MW
Technically, awarded (including shortlisted) N-type module volume reached 2.29 GW, accounting for 71.3%. Demand for BC modules kept rising: Guangzhou Development’s 1.2 GW centralized procurement included a 400 MW BC module section.
N-type Module Bidding Price: 0.741–0.775 yuan/W
In January 2026, N-type module bidding prices ranged from 0.741 to 0.775 yuan/W, with an average of 0.751 yuan/W.The lowest and highest quotes both came from the 30 MW(AC) Hungary Borsod PV project by Henan Workman Construction Engineering Co., Ltd., submitted by Shandong Deran Construction Co., Ltd. and Tongwei respectively.
Breakdown by Technology
- TOPCon modules: 0.748–0.750 yuan/W, average 0.749 yuan/W.Supported by costs and industry self-discipline, prices trended toward stability.
- BC modules: 0.747–0.750 yuan/W, average 0.759 yuan/W.The lowest bid came from GCL in Section 2 of Guangzhou Development’s 2025–2026 PV module procurement, and the highest from Aiko Solar in the same section.
Flexible Delivery: Balancing Long-Term Reserves & Short-Term Urgent Orders
From projects with published awards and shortlists in January, module delivery arrangements were flexible, balancing long-term reserves and short-term urgent orders.
- Guangzhou Development 1.2 GW procurement: delivery term of 1 year from contract signing.
- Chongqing Huadian Wushan 30 MW project: delivery required by the end of March. Guangqing Huachi County 50 MW PV project: delivery required within Q2.
- Smaller projects (Hebi Coal Power, Aluminum Corporation of China, etc.): delivery within 15–30 days after notification.
