On March 17, Ganfeng Lithium announced that the first unit of its 588Ah-6.26MWh 20-foot energy storage system officially rolled off the production line.
This product features large-capacity battery cells and a highly integrated battery pack system. Based on a globally standard 20-foot container design, it is compatible with both maritime and overland transportation. It is suitable for diverse energy storage applications across the power generation, grid, and user sides, demonstrating strong standardization and high adaptability to various scenarios.
In terms of technical specifications and performance, the system is equipped with 588Ah cells, achieving a single-container capacity of 6.26MWh and a system energy efficiency of approximately 96.5%. It also supports energy storage duration configurations ranging from 2 to 8 hours. Through modular integration and optimization, the system utilizes fewer components, thereby lowering operational and maintenance complexity as well as overall full-lifecycle costs. Simultaneously, it enhances volumetric energy density and minimizes the required floor space. Regarding longevity, the system is designed with a lifespan of approximately 20 years, with the battery cells capable of exceeding 15,000 cycles. For operation and safety, it is equipped with a liquid-cooling thermal management system and a battery management system (BMS) to improve thermal regulation and consistency, alongside integrated multiple safety protections and early warning mechanisms. Furthermore, the product boasts an IP55 protection rating and anti-corrosion capabilities, enabling it to operate in complex environments characterized by high temperatures, extreme cold, and high altitudes.
The successful rollout of this product marks a substantial milestone for Ganfeng Lithium, signifying practical progress in the research, development, and manufacturing of large-capacity electrochemical energy storage systems.
