LONGi Discloses 1.582 Billion Yuan HPBC 2.0 Technical Upgrade Project in Ordos

On July 17, the HPBC 2.0 cell technical renovation project for Workshops A201 and A202 of Ordos LONGi Photovoltaic Technology Co., Ltd. entered its pre-approval public notice phase.

Currently, Ordos LONGi Photovoltaic Technology Co., Ltd. has established an annual production capacity of 46 GW of monocrystalline silicon ingots and wafers, 30 GW of high-efficiency monocrystalline solar cells, and 5 GW of high-efficiency PV modules. This technical upgrade strictly targets Workshops A201 and A202 within the 30 GW high-efficiency cell project, leaving all other production units unaffected.

According to official filings, the 30 GW monocrystalline cell project was completed and put into operation in August 2024, passing its Phase I and Phase II environmental protection acceptances on August 17 and December 7, 2024, respectively. The overall facility comprises six cell manufacturing workshops housing a total of 56 production lines: Workshops A101 and A102 each operate 8 lines, while Workshops A201, A202, A301, and A302 each operate 10 lines.

To meet growing market demand for high-efficiency solar products and further boost cell conversion efficiency, LONGi plans to invest 1.582 billion yuan to execute the HPBC 2.0 technological upgrade across Workshops A201 and A202.

Under the plan, the project will dismantle the 20 existing production lines across Workshops A201 and A202—which currently account for a cell capacity of 5.355 GW per workshop—and build 14 new lines. Upon completion, the cell capacity of each workshop will increase to 5.67 GW, and the single-panel output power of the modules will rise from 625 W to 670 W.

Rather than adding net new capacity, this technical modification project focuses on upgrading manufacturing processes and optimizing equipment to raise conversion efficiency and product power levels, thereby optimizing the structure of existing capacity.

Additionally, according to a project filing notification released in April 2026, the construction period is scheduled to run from February 2026 through June 2027.
