Companies including Jinko ESS, SERMATEC, and ESS Tech have successively signed or delivered new projects, while the Shandong 200MW/400MWh independent energy storage facility contracted by Dongfang Xuneng achieved full-capacity grid connection.
Jinko ESS Signs 40MWh Energy Storage Project in Germany
Jinko ESS recently signed a cooperation agreement with Eturn for a 40MWh battery energy storage project in Germany, further expanding its footprint in the European energy storage market.
Located in Germany with a planned capacity of 40MWh, the project will adopt Jinko ESS’s complete system solutions. It is designed primarily to enhance grid flexibility and promote the integration and consumption of renewable energy.
SERMATEC Delivers 1.6MWh C&I Energy Storage Project in Austria
SERMATEC recently completed the delivery and installation of a commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage project in Austria, which is scheduled to enter the grid-connection commissioning phase next month.
With a total capacity of approximately 1.6MWh, the project features six units of SERMATEC’s proprietary EASYCUBE SERIES 261kWh energy storage systems. It is capable of serving a variety of application scenarios, including microgrids, demand-side management, and PV-plus-storage integration.
ESS Tech Signs 500MWh Sodium-Ion Energy Storage Supply Agreement
US long-duration energy storage company ESS Tech recently entered into a long-term supply agreement with energy storage developer Juniper Energy to deploy 500MWh of sodium-ion battery storage systems across the US market.
Under the agreement, ESS Tech will supply complete sodium-ion energy storage equipment sets. The projects will be built and commissioned in batches, focusing on long-duration storage scenarios such as grid-side applications and C&I peak shaving to meet the demand for newly constructed energy storage plants over the coming years.
Shandong 400MWh Storage Project Contracted by Dongfang Xuneng Commences Operation
On July 27, the Qingdao Yunrong 200MW/400MWh Independent Energy Storage Project—contracted by a consortium led by Dongfang Xuneng (Shandong) Technology Development Co., Ltd. under an EPC contract—achieved full-capacity grid connection.
Recognized as a key energy storage demonstration project in Shandong Province, the facility is situated in the Qingdao Rail Transit Industry Demonstration Zone with a total investment exceeding 400 million yuan. It features a planned 200MW/400MWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery energy storage system, complemented by a 220kV step-up substation and related electrical facilities. The grid connection of Phase II (100MW/200MWh) marks the complete completion and commercial operation of the entire facility.
