Jinko, Longi, and Canadian Solar Release Latest Survey Reports

published: 2026-08-03 14:12

Recently, Jinko Solar, LONGi Green Energy, and Canadian Solar successively disclosed the contents of their investor relations activities. They responded to topics surrounding the new national standards for photovoltaic (PV) energy efficiency, module technology roadmaps, changes in industry supply and demand, and the development of their energy storage businesses.

Jinko Solar

During a recent investor relations event, Jinko Solar stated that the release of the mandatory national standard for PV energy efficiency has further elevated the energy efficiency requirements for silicon materials and wafers. The standard also implements differentiated management for three technology routes: TOPCon, HJT, and BC. Notably, the minimum conversion efficiency requirement for Tier 3 TOPCon and HJT modules is set at 23.2%. Modules falling below this Tier 3 efficiency level will be prohibited from being produced, sold, or participating in bidding processes. The company believes that the implementation of this new standard will accelerate the elimination of outdated production capacity within the industry. Enterprises possessing technological advantages and high-efficiency production capacity are expected to gain greater competitive space.

Regarding module bidding, Jinko Solar noted that procurement by central and state-owned enterprises is currently shifting away from a singular focus on price. Instead, it is moving towards a comprehensive evaluation of full life-cycle returns, brand guarantees, and fulfillment capabilities. With its lower levelized cost of energy (LCOE), mature technology roadmap, and continuous upgrade potential, TOPCon will maintain strong competitiveness in the mainstream centralized procurement market.

LONGi Green Energy

Recently, LONGi Green Energy shared during an investor relations activity that, according to the newly released national standard for PV module efficiency, the minimum efficiency requirement for BC modules is 23.5%, which corresponds to a module power output of approximately 635W. At present, the power output of the company's HPBC modules all exceed 650W, and its existing HPBC module production capacity fully meets the requirements of the new national standard.

The company is currently continuing to advance the research and development of crystalline silicon-perovskite tandem cells and has repeatedly broken world records for related cell efficiencies. However, perovskite cells remain a technology in the R&D reserve phase and have not yet entered the stage of industrialized mass production.

In terms of its energy storage business, the company revealed that following the launch of the LONGi ONE energy storage product matrix in April of this year, it quickly secured orders by leveraging its PV channel resources. The company achieved a certain scale of deliveries in the second quarter of this year. As of now, the company has not yet released its production capacity construction plan for energy storage systems for 2027.

Canadian Solar

Canadian Solar stated that the recent introduction of policy documents, such as the new national standard for PV energy efficiency and cost standards, will help drive the industry's transition from price competition to value competition. Enterprises with advantages in technology, manufacturing, and cost are expected to benefit. The company's TOPCon 3.0 modules boast a maximum power of approximately 670W and an efficiency of about 24.8%. Scaled delivery of these modules is expected to commence gradually starting in August 2026.

Addressing the recovery of industry profitability, the company believes that short-term profitability remains influenced by supply and demand dynamics. As outdated capacity is eliminated, industry self-discipline strengthens, and demand recovers, profitability across the industry chain is expected to gradually improve. The company will navigate industry cyclical fluctuations by enhancing product competitiveness and expanding application scenarios for energy storage and combined PV-storage systems.

Regarding the energy storage business, Canadian Solar projects that driven by factors such as the increasing penetration rate of new energy, the growing demand for grid flexibility, and the refinement of policy mechanisms in the European and American markets, the global large-scale energy storage market will continue to maintain rapid growth in 2027, with the overall upward trend remaining unchanged.

Furthermore, the company's battery factory in Indiana, USA, commenced production in July 2026. Phase I has a planned capacity of approximately 2.1GW and is currently in the ramp-up phase, with capacity expected to be gradually released within the year. Construction of Phase II is also advancing. Next year, with the stable operation of the production lines and further capacity release, the company's localized, integrated manufacturing capabilities in the United States are expected to be significantly enhanced.
